Jeep VanWormer and Kris Patterson have announced that they will make there 1st appearance in a long time to Merritt Speedway.

Do you think that they have a chance to beat local Michigan talent?

WHO do you think will win?

Is Frank Sedar still racing??? If so, he's my pick to win.

yes, the flying farmer, frank seder, is still racing and would be one of my favorites to win it. great to see jeep coming back to one of the places he started racing; it has been a long time since kris patterson has visited merritt--probably not since early 1990's or more. wonder if guys like curtis roberts, rusty seaver, roger wing, bob flynn, etc will make the trip?

I don't know if Big Block Bob still races.

I have to believe though Seaver, either Roger Wing or Rick Stout will be there, Curtis Roberts should be there. Some of the best in MI will all be there.

1. frank seder 2. curtis roberts 3. dave hadfield
i believe spangler was fourth and hilliker come from the back to either 5th or 6th. van wormer finished 9th or 10th. i don't go to many dirt shows, but it looked to me that for most of the night the track was one groove on the bottom. also, they counted caution laps, so they actually only raced about 35 laps. is this the norm for dirt racing???????? anyways it got pretty interesting with about 10 or 15 to go when frank got into lapped traffic and roberts started working seder on the inside with hadfield in tow. however, a caution come out and then seder coasted home.

L/M A-MAIN WAS GREAT, DAVE HILIKER STARTED NEAR BACK PASSED ALOT OF CARS. JEEP STARTED EIGHT OR SO, MADE IT UP TO 5TH, SLID BACK CAR LOOKED TIGHT. MOD A- MAIN HAD REAL GOOD RACING 3RD ON BACK, 3 WIDE MULTIPLE TIMES. WAS PRETTY GOOD RACING AFTER TRACK CAME IN.

Thanks for the info Roger, I'll have to ask Brent about the pay set-up. I wonder if it was the usual dirt track thing, 1,ooo$ to win and 50$ for second place. I used to really love that in my dirt track days! I actually ran quite a few modified shows that were 10,000$ to win and second place paid 500$ But I would go home happy with my 75$ for 15th place and not even worry about the 100$ worth of methanol I burned that night. AH, the good old days!

It was a good show,i wish we would have got the 55 laps that everyone payed for instead of 35.counting cautions in a 55 lap race is not worth $20 a person.hopefully next year NO CAUTION LAPS COUNTED and make it a real 55 lap race that everyone payed to see.

what kind of car count did they have in both classes? sounds about normal for the racetrack to, when i was up last weekend it was pretty much the same. isnt it amazing how the track actually gets better as the night goes and the moisture starts coming back up. if all the other dirt tracks were like that it would be great.

Not really sure on the car count.it was a good show i just wish they would not have counted all those stupid caution laps and we would have seen how good the track really is.Im sure curtis roberts would agree..

I had a heck of a time at the Who 55. The way that track came alive after dark was amazing. Watching Seder defend his home turf was awesome. Sure they counted caution laps but I understand, it was a week night you know. The field was very strong somebody is gonna misunderstand this but it was as COMPETITIVE of a field of cars as I saw the Saturday before at the Dream. Very good race. It did get me thinking too bad Merrit doesn't seat enough people to bring in the World of Outlaws or Lucas oil Late model series. I'd pay 35 bucks to watch those guys matched up with the Flyin' Farmer at that track!!!
