The Sam Faur 70 Memorial Race
Gates open at 12:00, Tech opens at 12:30, and you must pass tech before practicing. Practice begins at 1:00.
Pre-Register by July 5 for $27 or it is $47 at the gate.

Cars from A/C, Dixie, Owosso, Whittemore, Kalamazoo, Spartan, Berlin will be welcome if they meet the following rules.

Rules: Basis will be USA Modified Rules with these exceptions or changes.
No Mirrors, No Radios, No Engine Claim, No Fuel Stops, 2400# total, 1000# min right side, Hoosier 970, 4" ground clearance, You must race on tires qualified on, You do not have to buy tires at the track, and ABSOLUTELY no tire soaking will be allowed

*** The past two years we have also collected lap money and other awards for the race. It was $20 a lap, and we also accepted donations for other awards such as 7th place on 7th lap was $100. If anyone is intersted in sponsoring one of the laps or something else for this years race, please post here, or contact Auto City Speedway at 687-9500 or John Belott. There has been some speculation, but I have gotten confirmation that John Belott is going to handle the race again this year. If anyone remembers what the first one was like, it would be nice to try and match that or even beat it!

The format will be similar to the last two years...top 17 locked in. The top 7 will run a fast car dash, and the other ten will run a qualifying heat. The final 7 spots will be determined through last chance races if necessary.

I would also like to start it off by taking lap #21 for $20 and Lap #32 for $20. anyone else Just post here so we can take note of it, and begin collecting money.

This race is a good race to pencil in on the calender! The last 2 have been fun and a all around good time. Can and should be the biggest mod race in MI! I will take lap 31 for $20.00 cant wait!

To keep things simple we have decided to go a straight $20 on the lap money. If you still want to put the other $10 somewhere else thats fine too.


****Also the contingency awards are starting to come in....as of this morning this is what we have:

7 Car Dash - $250 to win there will also be a $250 bonus if a Windpusher wins the dash for a total of $500. This money is courtest of WIndpushers
There is also talk of a straight Windpusher chassis dash, that may be worked out as well.

I would say no, this is meant to draw cars from other tracks. But to be sure, I will ask John Belott this afternoon. This was his idea for this award.

Thanks, I will check with JB, and I will also call Joe and ask if there is a rain date since we are collecting all of this money.

FYI there are also talks of expanding the starting field to 27 like years past.

On top of the $20 lap money, Here are some of the updated contingency awards for the SFM

Fast Time is $200 thanks to Sam O'Conner and Don O'Guinn

7 Car dash will pay $250 unless a Windpusher Chassis wins, then it will be an extra $250 for a total of $500
