A/C is looking to put a mini schedule out for the sportsman 8-10 races,,, a couple of questions should these be just races or point races with a champion being crowned at the banquet? Rules would be a mix of dixie an owosso to allow cars from both tracks to compete.

Thay can't correctly handle what they have now the last thing they need is another class. If they do that they should change the moto were the thunder rolls to You Can't Fix Stupid Come And See

Silverbullett if you read anything put out by succesful promoters they say no more than 4 or five classes AC already has 6 and if you count the supers it's 7

thats why you only put 4-5 on the nights race schedule which on these nights they would be mods sportsman on the 1/2 mile factory stocks led sleds an 4 cyl on the 1/4 mile just as an example also as in any other business if you dont grow you will surely die

In my opinion it wouldnt be bad to have the sportsman IF they would give the F/S a few nights off but to give them points NOT all this would do is take away from the already small points fund that he gives to us at the banquet. But on the other hand look at the modified division they have limited there races and there seems to be fewer this year could it be they went else where and found a better place to call home just my opinion anyone else see it this way.

i would love to see the sportsmen there but get rid of the thunder trucks,,put the hornets on a limited schedual.or vise versa..the hornets would get more cars if they lifted that age restriction, that is stupid or work it to where owasso gives there sportsmen the day off and send the hornets there while there sportsmen come to ac..all about big fields,,but joe is not doing a good job with ac right now...more and more cars are not showing up every week...need to fix that problem first...but im sure if that class does come to ac on a permient schedual..more factory stocks would go to that class..leaving the fs and the ls to upgrading in there racing carear..i love that class of cars.always awsome racing in that class..your faster fs would move up.allow the slower ones for better racing in the fs...the ls would do the same..i love that idea,,just more then 8 to 10 races..for the year, cancel the thunder trucks, let them buy fs

Are you talking this season or next?
I would say no points, it makes people drive stupid. Just good pay and good laps and enforcement of the rules. The pay would at least have to be what Dixie pays for Sportsman. Since there would be no point fund it should be a little more, IMHO.

At the A/C pro late model meeting beginning of this year, WE all suggested running pursuits every night to give the fans and the drivers more half mile races, He said it would not be a good idea. Now I read about adding another class to the half mile. How many times can you cut the SAME factory stock pie without adding cost. Adding more classes and time per night is not the answer. A/C NEEDS to work on COMPLETE racing program over by 11 pm.
just my 2 cents

they would need to do it for next year, full time, this year do the 8 to10, for no points but more money if not same as dixi.because of no points. that would bring all of them out for more money..next year points.

how long has mr. boguz been racing? the classes go through changes the class you are in was the biggest baddest LLM class around full feature an full semi then the #'s started to fall an mr yost introduced the template class with everyone kicking an screaming now look at the class. as long as A/C only runs 4-5 classes per night an no horsing around they could be done by 11-11:30 and make consistant calls on the track also tech the classes so they dont get out of control

A track can have 20 classes, but as long as they only run 4-5 per night it shouldn't be as bad as A/C makes it look. Look at Dixie; 100 lap SLM, Mods, FS, Bombers, Fig-8's, charity go-cart race. Done shortly after 11. Why?
SLM got no hot laps. There was NO INTERMISSION (big reason). They have multiple guys on the track doing the lineup when it gets screwed up. They started on time.
Adding some Sportsman races would not kill the track, heck they usually have the least amount of cautions of any class. But we all agree that they need to do a better job of handling what they do have.
Auto City, take a field trip to Dixie. Take a notebook. Take notes. Go home and do what they do.

I have been racing and around racing my whole life of 35 years. I have built many types of cars from the ground up, built engines from scratch, also built engines for a busch team in North Carolina.
My point is, Does anyone think Auto City can pull this off at it PRESENT state of confussion the track is in? The track can not produce a QUALITY racing show in a timely fashion and keep ALL the competitors on the same page with tech and racing calls.
just my 2 cents!

Your right Fred 10-15 years ago AC Pro Stock then LLMs were great, I had alot of fun racing there, hell I can remember the Colonels race having as many cars go home as raced, the AC delco series was neat too, and the fields were tight, I remember one Mudslinger I was 2 1/2 tenths off the pole and I was the last on time 16th! those were the days, I think having Sportsman cars 8-10 races would be a good idea, with the cars at Dixie you could prolly get a decent field IF and this is a big IF, you make the purses high enough, I doubt that will happen Sportsman cars 35-50 laps at least $500 to win and $100 to start IMHO

Kyle hit the nail on head with his last statement. Our bomber was loaded and we had our pay inhand and driving out the gate at 11.45pm. AC needs to get controll of what they have before interducing a new class. Set the rule and inforce them, no intermission that includes spec drags, rusty needs help on the track get these things done and mabey Billy and I might even come back.

They need to find Rusty somthing else to do and use raceradios oneway that would eliminate all wasted time with the caution laps if they enforce it set the line up you get in line or park it
