2005 Bollhoff Rivnut SUPERPRO Champion Rob Buckley took an early lead and cruised to victory Friday in the "International Trucks Gold Cup 100" for the Bollhoff Rivnut SUPERPRO Series at the Baer Field Speedway in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Hometown favorite Al Cook, Jr. and Rick Everidge led the 23 car field to the green with Everidge jumping into the early lead. Buckley, driving the Lipari Foods - State Electronics Monte Carlo, moved from his fourth starting position to second on lap three and moved around Everidge for the lead on lap 5 with 2006 champ Mark Kortz moving into second on lap six. An altercation between Everidge and Michael Gaier on lap 13 put Gaier to the tail.

Jack Landis grabbed third on lap 20 and began a challenge to Kortz for second. The two veterans battled side by side for several laps with Landis finally taking the runner up spot on lap 48. At halfway, it was Buckley, Landis, Kortz, fast qualifier Jason Dietsch, Anthony Danta, Tommy Cook, Greg Taylor, Everidge, Gaier and Mike Kugler.

Dietsch continued his move to the front getting by Kortz for third on lap 55 and Landis for second three laps later. A late race caution bunched the field up but Buckley was not to be denied his initial Gold Cup win. Dietsch was second followed by Landis, Kortz, and Michael Gaier, who made a great run from the rear to finish fifth. Tommy Cook, Taylor, Kugler, Everidge and Danta rounded out the top ten.

Dietsch grabbed the Aluminum Racing Products-Q Racing Oil Fast Qualifier Award with a time of 17.679 seconds around the half mile oval. He also won the All Star Performance Hard Charger Award. Colin Toland increased his Five Star Rookie of the Year lead as he was the top finishing rookie.

The Bollhoff Rivnut SUPERPRO Series makes their first ever visit to the historic Winchester Speedway on Sunday, August 12 for the running of the "Aluminum Racing Products 75." Pits open at 8 am, main gates at 10 am and racing at 2 pm. The AMS Modifieds and CRA Sportsmen and Compacts will also be on the program.
