Does anyone know circa how many people the stands at Owosso can hold?
And for giggles, the last time they were completely full. Sorry, I had to...

I think 7000 and the last time they was full was when they had big rigs racing on the half mile

7000 I don"t think soo last year they needed 500 people to pay the drivers full pay and that took about 60 to 65 per cent of the grandstands at least. 7000 times 15.00 thats 105 thousand take for a full house even a third of that would be 35000 which should keep a track in the black

Back in the day you might have 7000 total from the stands and the pits. The Pits had much more seating with the 1/2 mile in place. You might get 1500 shoulder to shoulder with the new configuration.

2000-3000 would be my guess.
In 2001, the first North vs. South Shootout for the Main Event Series we had them parked all along M-21 for 3/4 of a mile each way, both sides of the road. Hollywood and I all night long asked people to SQUEEZE in. State Police had to regulate traffic all along the area until we were done.
That was the most I have ever seen there, it WAS a beautiful thing!!!!

K-Zoo holds 6500, according to website
I was told Springport holds about 5000 on the main grandstand side and about 1200 pit side
I was told Spartan is about 2500
So with those to compare from I would put Owosso around 2000 - 2500, those cement stands don't hold that much.
2001 at Owosso was a very good year, there were a lot of big crowds and a lot of cars. What happened?

I was told that Owosso's biggest night ever, while Elmer owned it and Jane ran it, was when they had the Big Truck Race. I don't remember how many people there were, though...

July 3rd 1990 for the ARTGO Series the stands were so packed that the seats to the left of the flag stand actually cracked and dropped as they couldn't handle the weight Jane, wayne and some other people were underneath reinforcing the seats and adding more supports to hold everyone and if I remember there was by far more people there for that than the North South race

i remember that night VERY well as we racing there that night in the modifieds. if you can believe what was said that night there were about 3500-4000 people in the stands and pits both. i also remember that the stands were starting to crack that night because there wasnt anyplace else to sit. there were also over 40 mods that night and they had to have 2 b-mains. my wife shot a video fom our race and it was definitely packed. i was also at the north-south race and there wasnt as many people there as the artgo race. ah the good old days when you could see b-mains in multiple classes and actually have fans in the stands too!

Elain i can remember most of the big cowds out there Al Stockton had the semi's there once that drew a lot of people. The ASA years ago was huge, Artgo show was huge too the biggest crowd owosso ever had was the ASA back in the day and the semi's that Elmer brought in. OHYA 48 isnt old I can still remember some of the shows from back in late 60's and early 70's

Yeah I figured the realistic number would be 3501 by those figures.
Seriously though, I think this information is already on this site somewhere, because Chris Throgmartin has all of this data from his marketing days in Mi short tracks.
