This was a very misleading advertisement at the track.

I don't understand why it was called a give away when it was a free 2 year lease or use of the vehicle and why did people have to qualify with credit? Why was credit even considered?

Please explain, thank you.

Maybe they wanted to make sure you would give th truck back?

The give away was a 2 year lease prepaid by Whittemore speedway and its sponsors. This is approx a 10,000 dollar value. If you walked in the door and wanted to sign a lease you have to qualify financially and be insurable and have a responsible credit rating incase you drive over the allowable miles for a lease. it is part of ANY lease. This was a requirement from the onset and was stated in the giveaway rules and posted at 10 locations around the speedway including the gate before you walk in. We did not charge anyone at any point a cost to purchase a ticket. WE GAVE THEM THE CHANCE WITH ATTENDANCE AT THE RACE FOR FREE. We charged normal front gate pricing 12 dollars for people to get in. They got a free chance at a 10,000 dollar prize for this. People got a free ticket on Pit Side with their normal invitational pit pass pricing. There was lots of requirements to put someone in a vehicle. They had to have a permanent address. they had to be 18. They have to pay tax. They had to be insurable. Its just like if you go to a casino and win uncle sam gets his take. It cost us a tremendous amount to put this on. Most people including the winner were pretty happy at a chance at a new truck. We gave away a 2 year use of a brand new truck. As with any contest some restrictions always apply. I hope this explanation is thorough enough. It was posted for at least a month in advance on the website with all the givaway details. Thank you and have a nice day.

While I can see the 'mix up' in the originating complaint, I also understand your position Jeff. In the summer, it is not unusual for me to get 35+ email a week asking what time the races start and that information is right next to the email link. You have to be looking for it.

I knew something was up when the truck was a Ford. Just kidding. Great Promotion!!! banana.gif
