Full Version: Week 4 driver promotion winners
Michigan Short Track Racing Club > Race Tracks > Pavement Tracks
racnpartsales
Last weeks winners were Kyle Tremble local driver(hauled under 50 miles one way to compete)- Bob Robinson Long Haul (hauled over 50 miles one way to compete), Doug Miller Jr, scratch and dent (a crash or mechanical problem kept from starting or finishing the feature).

It varies each week on the crowd participation, but these guys each took home an extra $125 dollars from sponsor and crowd participation.

Thank you to my wife Pam, Shaina and Keisha (Kevin Peeks daughters) for putting a lot of sweat equity into something to give to any speedway driver each week.

Thank you to the fans who generously participate in these programs that make Whittemore a very driver friendly facility. This speedway will be constantly at work to find ways to give back to its drivers with the people it has active in the race club today.

This is what its all about, I have only been to whittemore once in a 4 cylinder awhile back, in one trip I gained some good friends in Derek Moe and family. I cant wait to be there on the 22nd with my mod and im seriously considering running there full time next year.. keep up the good work.

Derek and Stacie are a great couple and Dave and Sandy are some of the hardest working folks there are. They are a wonderful family and we value them very much.

Im excited about running up there as well....

I know I could look at the schedule but, I figured while im here I will just ask. How many more regular late model races are left before the invite???

Kyle, We (My kids car) run a 6.50 gear. Our springs are very close to the howe setup from the book. Our stagger is 3 1/4 with a gold track. We have mid pack lap times most times. The tires are 970's on 8 inch wheels. The tracks banking is 12 and 14 degrees, the corners are more sweeping than stop and go style.
There is few cautions in our limited class. The guys run each other really clean for a short track and are real helpful to any guests. If you are lacking anything when you get here there are several that can help. Cale, Derek, Dan, Scott,Russell, Mike B and some former drivers like Roger are on here from time to time they may have additional advice.
We have a one night registration available that is $20. Our nightly pit passes are $22. Front Gate is $12. Our field has been gaining more cars each week. Last time we had 10 Limiteds I believe. If everyone shows we should have 12 or 13 at Championship night I would suspect. We have a $120 to start graduated pay scale that is strong through the middle. 11 cars Pays $550 I believe to win. The invite is a bigger purse with a guarenteed payout posted on the whittemorespeedway.net website under news. I have the normal weekly payout on file on a different computer and I can send it to you if you like. Tom Haas pulls his factory stock up from Warren everyweek and I believe he can tell you exactly how long it takes when hauling a trailer. If you could follow his wifes Mini van I think you could make it in an hour and a half biggrin.gif If I can be of further help my number is (810)223-7112

They pay just as good as k-zoo did last year before the put the supers and limited together. ( Limited pay) I think you should try it before the invite if you plan on coming to dial your cars in abit. Fun fast track. I have kinda lost some of the fun of racing at a local track because of the owner. Will never race this unnamed track again. Whittemore was exactly what i wanted my home track to be. Point is my grandfather and me race together and it has become fun again for both of us.
Thanks WRC.

As a member of the Whittemore Racing Club, I would like to thank you for making the trip to our Speedway. I remember my first race there: " I've found a home" were my thoughts! Good racing without the B.S. found at most tracks! I think if you could get 2 more cars from up north to show up, they would also "find a home" and the show there would end that much sooner. As for the WRC we are very glad to have you and look forward to Roger's Mod showing up next year! Unless his is faster than mine, which is finally ready to hit the track(better late than never). BIGcheater
I HAVE NO COMMENT ON EITHER OF THE LAST 2 POSTS tongue.gif BUT I WILL SAY THAT THE CHASSIS IS NO LONGER BURIED UNDER SHEETS OF DRYWALL LEANING AGAINST IT, ITS ACTUALY SETTING ON STANDS NOW, I HAVE HAVE 3 SHEETS OF ALUM. TO GET STARTED WITH. HMM....I GUESS I BETTER GET WITH THE NICE MAN I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM AND GET THE REST OF MY PARTS OUT OF HIS WAY AND START MAKING AN ASSEMBLY PLAN EH? icon_mrgreen.gif

JEFF H. YOURS IS READY? WILL YOU MAKE THE NEXT SHOW?
wbta
No it's not ready, but I will make the next show. I can't seem to find a swaybar set-up that will work, but I'm going to run with or without one. I guess I'll have to rely on my feeble driving skills if I have to run without a bar. But I'll be there either way!
superfast_86
Jeff,
If it is any consolation, I qualified 3rd quick this past saturday without my sway bar on. After racing the 4 car and the heat, not such a swell idea to leave it off. I put it on before the feature, alot better. Glad to hear your car is close.
