As of this moment, the show is still a go if there's a break in the rain.

The words before I left were; We'll do everything we can to get this show in, because there's no rain date, even if we have to stay until the wee hours of the morning. Well the forecast and radar present something else, so I'm at home. Let the buyer beware. It's a shame it had to rain today, I have been looking forward to this show since it was announced.

The 'Dawgs' howled for about an hour in the drizzle. I left after their performance.

yeah, i really have to give it up for the ASA guys. They pushed it out as far as they could, but the weather wouldn't break. Well I talked to the ASA Lady and she said they don't have a break in the schedule until September 9! the 3 night show!!!!! and after that would be october but we are done as of September 9! its out last weekend!!!!

it would of been a good show if it wasn't for the weather!!!!!

Yep,
The "Dawgs" got to howl, rain and all.
I want to thank the fans in the stands and on the track, and the drivers for sticking it out, staying for the show, and also want to say that I so badly wanted to see those races, a great car count, and some good mods too. Would have been one great night of racing!
Three times during our show I got zappo'ed, (in other words, rain plus lips touch mike while hands on strings equals electricity time) one time it actually took my breath away, literally, ended up missing two or three lines of "Back On The Road Again" just trying to catch my breath and then quite coughing afterwards. Sorry 'bout that folks.
Just sorry we couldn't go racing, and get another show in afterwards, I mean it when I say we enjoy playing to the race crowd like no other.
Hoping for another chance to do it,
have a good day,
schinde

Mr. Schindewof (Sorry if spelt wrong) you guys did an amazing job. My Dad loved it, he was having flashbacks to his first concert when you played the REO Speedwagon song (I believe that was the right band.) You guys were awesome, and it definetly helped passed the time.

MyOpinion,
Thanks, I appreciate the compliment, very much so. And yes , you are right, it was REO, we did two that night, Riding The Storm Out and Back On The Road Again.
Playing music in front of a crowd is a lot of fun, and I hope whenever we do so, that we are giving everyone there a good time. If we can do that, then we have done what we wish to.
Music, mods and motorcycles, not necessarily in that order, dependent on the season.
Thanks again
have a good day,
schinde

On behalf of the entire ASA Late Model Series Management and Staff, we thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for waiting out the weather with us. Unfortunately, Mother Nature just wouldn't cooperate with us and we were forced to cancel the Great Lakes 100 and the USPRO Cup Series' Sneak Peek 35.
To the Owosso Speedway Late Models, Modifieds, and Street Stocks competitors that I didn't get a chance to visit with, I sincerely apologize. As you could tell, a typical ASA Late Model Series Race Day is very hectic and with an additional division in the USPRO Cup Series, we were extremely busy to say the least beginning with Rig Parking and then Practice Tech, Practice itself, Qualifying Tech and Tire Impound, Qualifying itself, and the Autograph Sessions.
Thank you to Matt Schindewolf and the Basement Dawgs for playing over and above what was expected even during the steady drizzle! You guys are awesome and Elaine and I will certainly come see you guys play in the area when you are near. PLEASE send us a schedule of events during the winter months.
Also a special thanks to Chris Fobbe (MyOpinion) who absolutely busted his A@# for me while I was taking my turn as Race Director for the ASA Late Model Series, USPRO Cup Series, and the Owosso divisions for most of the afternoon!
Fobbe was on top of things all morning and afternoon getting the correct information on the Owosso drivers as well as helping me out with some of the ASA Late Model Series and USPRO Cup Series teams with vital information that I may have missed!
Hopefully the current Owosso Speedway Management will see that they have a very talented young man on their payroll and will give you the rightful shot you deserve as the Owosso Speedway Public Address Announcer and Director of Media Relations. You did a great job and it didn't go unnoticed!
Finally thanks again to everyone that came out and supported us this past Saturday night! We were looking at one of the biggest crowds the track has seen since 2001! Definitely the biggest car count by far the track has seen all season long!

It looked like it was going to be a good night of racing until those clouds came in. I checked the weather chanel before I left for the track and knew rain was coming but I needed a practice session so I was glad to get that in before the rain.
It showed that people will come back to Owosso when they have a real racing program instead of a circus side show.

Would have been a great show had mother nature not decided to pms on us! Althought the tailgate party fizzled out,you can bet that we will be more prepared for next year's running of the Michigan Doubles Weekend!
And The Basement Dawgs did a great job! Rock on guys!

Thanks Matt, I appreciate the kind words, and the amazing opportunity you gave me. Hopefully in the near future I will get a chance to finally get on the mic for a solid amount of time and show what I can do.
