Hi all...

My wife and I came out to Owosso last weekend. We stuck it out until the races were called. I'd like to come back this weekend, but the wife will not come back due to the womens restroom being out of order...at least it was locked up Saturday night. We would come Sat, and gladly plunk down $30 for the races, but not if she has to use a portajohn! Maybe Mr. Bigos will fix the ladies room?? Thanks.

Race track bathrooms are old and sometimes not kept up very well, a portajohn may actually be a little nicer.

Shouldn't be that way... the restrooms, especially the women's rest room.. should be immaculate, better then your own house.

Nothing will leave a better (or worse) impression on a visit to an entertainment facility then the rest room.

Actually the ASALMS rented the porta potties for last weekend expecting a big turnout and wanted extras. Why the bathrooms were locked? Who knows.
We (x15fan and I) checked the bathrooms out Saturday morning to make sure they were clean and they were - just that leaking one on the east side - use the other side.

She tried the door, as did some other ladies, and it was indeed locked. I couldn't care less about the shape of the men's room at any track, but obviously if the ladies rooms are accesible, and in decent shape, it makes for a happier time all around

This was our first time to Owosso, and it looks like a really cool track. We've been mainly dirt goers, but started travelling around to tracks we haven't been, and don't expect facilities to be immaculate, just have their fans in mind. I know Owosso is
taking some hard knocks from all sides, and my post was in no way meant to fan any flames. There are very few short tracks around that have a budget to be lavish... i understand that.

Owosso is a great track, with some of the best racing around. I hope you can get a chance to come back and check it out for yourself.

Please no one take this badly or anything because Owosso is a very good track but I'm going to invite you to Springport Motor Speedway and check us out. We have beautiful bathrooms because it is actually a newer track than Owosso. We would love to have you.

Well how else can you take that post ? Owosso does run alot faster action and cars sorry to say that and , to defend Owosso it does have way lot better action and fast car racing that will fix your need for speed. Springport is a fast track also but , you need the fast cars not Street stocks and mini's not alot of fun in watching that. SORRY

The only racetrack bathroom I consider beautiful is Angola, Berlin is very very clean... the rest are just usable!!!!!

I just go to Spartan Speedway to read my husbands name on the bathroom walls!!!! LOL

What's the big deal?? Caroline invited someone to try Springport that wasn't pleased with Owosso's bathroom situation, again, what's the big deal?? It's not like she bad mouthed the track, like the Owosso announcer does to other facilities!! Maybe "beautiful" isn't quite the word I would use, but that is beside the point. She meant NO disrespect or harm, and even stated that in the beginning of her post.

And ole Joe couldn't wait to get in a bash there, could you Joe?? I'm not even going to get into comparisons with you on what you think may be valid points, because they are NOT!!! I guess birds of a feather flock together. At least our promoter isn't trying to race with his drivers!! Nuff said!!!

Like I said "I meant no harm at all." Before I became an official at 2 tracks my husband and I went to Owosso all the time to watch racing or do some racing ourselves...I would never disrespect any track just to make it look as if I'm trying to get people to another track. I don't work that way. I just mentioned that if he was traveling around with his wife to come on down to Springport and check it out.

That's all I meant. Oh well.

Fer what its worth.. one of Owosso Speedway's fastest street Street Stocks came out to Springport and didn't win.. maybe all those SMS cars aren't so slow.. and the 4-cylinder car which came out finished dead last.

Big O runs 12 pure stocks (regularly), SMS runs 11. Big O runs 7 street stocks, SMS runs 10. Big O runs 6 FWDs, SMS runs 12. Big O runs 9 Mods.. SMS runs 12 VROA Mods.. Big O has run SLM once.. SMS has run SLM once. Where are all these fast, extra cars at Big O that aren't at SMS ?

And I'm not slamming Owosso.. I'm saying there is no reason to slam Springport.

Does anyone know if there has even been any interest from anyone on buying owosso? I am guessing most on here wouldnt have a clue?

Patrick why don't you look at the difference in the motor rules between Owosso and Springport...theres alot of difference between them. My brother isn't legal at Owosso 3 miles from home because he runs Spartan rules. That is his choice, he loves running Spartan. He likes Springport but toooo far of a haul for him this year.
If you are quoting stats Owosso has run SLM twice this year...

Daaaaamn yall are gittin a bit snippy. Hey good racing happens wherever you choose to go watch them. Maybe not every week, but for the most part. We are all racers, so lets sit around the fire for some peace and love. (though I might have to pull you guys apart for a minute.)

Wow well Ive read enough...I am very upset that this publicly viewed thread about the Owosso Facility has turned into a bashing session with a stick like usual. We are all upset with the current state of Owosso speedway, yes it needs work, but on the other hand beating each other up in a boxing match does not fix it.

I can not imagine being a fan for the first time, not being happy, coming back to their favorite website to ask fellow fans/racers about the newly visited race track, asking a simple question, then having it turned into this 2 page fight fest like most of the owosso posts are turning into. This is what upsets me the most.

For everyone who has never been to Owosso Speedway before, it is a very cool race track, two lanes of racing, fast great races....yes it is an older facility, but its like a bottle of wine----sweet with age. So I invite anyone who has never been there before to take advantage of watching races there before its TOO LATE...Also for any other track as well, enjoy them all....who knows where racing will be as we know it in the future

Anyway, I do appreciate everyone's passion for their respective tracks...I once was the same way about my home track, 'nuff said.

There's plenty of tracks in Michigan, and we, as fans, will end up hitting all of them.

The thread may have been entitled Owosso, but it was also a complaint about the facility. Caroline didn't do anything but invite a "traveling" race fan to another facility. I can understand your defense of your troubled race track, but feel you need to direct your frustrations toward a more possible solution, as opposed to taking offense of Caroline's invitation. Many, many, many track employee's have invited many others to their track on this message board, no matter what the thread is titled. The offense that you took, and then mentioned, then lead to Joe (team21) spouting off accusations and starting a whole Hatfields vs McCoy's scene, which is totally unnecessary. Because every loyal fan, driver, and staff member is going to defend the place they frequent, and believe in.

I have deep feelings for Owosso also. I spent a lot of time there and will always love that track. I want nothing but the best for that place. I've said many times that there are many things that bother me about what goes on there, but are all out of anyones control, except the owners. And I certainly do not want to get into any kind of argument over this. Caroline meant NO disrespect to Owosso, or anyone involved. Nuff said!!!!

Sorry you had a bad experience over the rest rooms. Wanted to let everyone know the reason why the restrooms were locked up was because there are some very disrespectful people out there that doesn't care on how they use the restrooms or for the people that clean those restrooms. It seems that some people can't hit through the toilet seat properly and like to smear feces all over the seats and plug up the toilets with tons of toilet paper and lets not mention all over the floor. Seems like no one can hit a trash can either. If their is anyone out there that enjoys cleaning poop off the seats and floor and to unclog the toilets than let the owners know and maybe they will remove the portajohns and we will beable to enjoy useing the restrooms again. I for one don't like to use portajohns either.

it's just wrong. i find it hard to beleive that owosso has any more of a problem with their bathrooms then any other race facility. the difference being is the other facilities care. they have some one on top of it all night long. heck flatrock use to have bathroom attendants, been a while since i've been there but the womens use to. springport someone always looking in. they don't have to be state of the art bathrooms, just clean. at the beginning of dixies renovations the womens bathroom were wicked too, but kept clean for the most part. porta pottys are ok to pick up expected large crowds but if a facility opens their doors to the public they should have clean, operating toilets. you don't go to a lugnuts, tigers game and see their bathrooms locked up because they don't want to keep them clean. owosso has proven simply by their web page post they don't care so why is this a surprise? i guess it's the thought that i can't wash my hands when you need to.

i would be carefull in greeting people at owosso, just give a nod and not a hand shake.
