that is good news, but the reason i never showed up (based on principle) was the only 350 to win. as a racer, i am there to race to win, not for start money. i think a guaranteed purse is where it is at, not one that depends on car count. several times this year i asked burine murphy about the car count, because i was intrested in coming to race there, and evey time he said they were only pulling enough cars to pay the low scale...... so i didn't come to race. i don't know how many people think like i do, but how many don't show up for the same reason????? i do think it is great that the club is tring to do something to try to pull cars in. i am a big fan of paying better at the bottom of the scale, because of the cost of just getting to a track to race, and it helps the guys that don't run up front to come back the next week. a strong class is built with good start money and a carrot to dangle for the top position.

Kurt,
Most times the LLM were only a car or two from recieving full scale. Without elimanating the LLM, we had to look at alternatives, in 2005 with an average of 7 LLM - they received $45,000 of the purse money for the season. In 2006 we cut the entire pay across the board, in 2007 we implemented a pay scale based on car count. This allowed the person traveling their guarenteed start money of $120. Basically they had a guarenteed payout, but with less than 10 cars pay started from 10th and worked backwards based on # of cars and that was what the winner is paid. EXAMPLE: say 9 cars showed - 9th would be paid for the 10th spot and the winner would get paid 2nd place money. All classes fall under this scale, we are not singling out the LLM. That is why we raised the start pay, so the field will fill. With the elimanation of the PRO 4 class, their are going to be 4 new LLM's. That should get them up in the 12 -14 range, which will be full payout. Then add travelers as yourself, the LLM class could have a full field biggrin.gif . Our goal for the payouts have been to take care of the field, rather than to top load it for the winner.

Here is the entire payout:
1. $500
2. $425
3. $350
4. $300
5. $250
6. $215
7. $180
8. $170
9. $160
10th on back. $150
