was wondering first of all, if anyone knows if the usa mods will be allowing the howe plastic nose next year (08)?

secondly, was wondering where to look for different roofs and hood scoops?

third, when the rules state stock steel calipers, does that mean you can run like a howe steel caliper or does it have to be stock, stock?

finally, can a third link assembly be aluminum or no in the usa deal?

now, i ask that nobody please dont start a war on here about what SHOULD AND SHOULD NOT BE LEGAL unsure.gif . I am simply asking for my own information. building new mod for kazoo, but want it legal for usa shows as well. also for dan logan, if you read this, how can i get a look at the headrest you spoke of on your car and how much, who makes it etc. etc.? thanks again all.

The talk was that this year, USA mods where going to allow Howe noses, but haven't heard if that is for sure.

Last year in USA mods all suspenion parts must be steel. usamodifieds.com, they have a message board also on there web site.

Dan will have the headrests at the swap in Ionia. Three of them, two sold, if I can come up with the cash, the third will be sold also, unless someone else can beat me to it. Although I will have one for next year, I've really no choice.

Performance Bodies sells a variety of roofs, hoods and noses that are USA legal, along with noses also if the plastic aren't allowed, not sure of that one yet.

I do believe that the stock rule means stock, i.e., OEM style. Section I under General Competition reads as follows:

Aluminum wheels, hubs, calipers, “A” frames or spindles, or any other aluminum suspension parts are not allowed. Plastic wheel not allowed. Calipers cannot be lightened and must be OEM. Rotors cannot be lightened or drilled. Rotors may be re-drilled for different bolt patterns or larger studs. Aluminum pan hard bar adjusters are legal.

Hope this helps a little. Here is a link to USA rules:

Tim Curry at Finish Line Racing also has roof, which is a lot closer.. If Dan does sell all the head supports Dave Stacy builds them and they are very nice.. In fact one of the three is mine.. The last time I talked to Steve Ellis the plastic nose was to be legal for "08" so Dan and I would leave him alone.. Steel means Steel,, And I know there is a guy in Dorr that does Modified bodies if you are interested, but I think he is busy until after the first of the year,, Hope that helps,,, see you at the Zoo.
Also TAR Bodies has some nice Asphalt stuff.
