ok, getting ready to do the rules at owosso. doing the mini's and the pure stocks first. any input?
circusracer
Look at the other tracks rule books, and stay in the same neighborhood for starters. (tires, weight, etc.)

laci, do you want front wheels only or both?
KCR87
I hate to see any track "copy" or mimmick another, but for the Mini-Stocks, adopt Whittemore Speedways Stock-4 rules. This rulebook produces a FWD champion in 2006, and a RWD champion in 2007. These rulebooks make it fair for both cars, and you know as well as I do... Owosso needs "CARS" no matter what type, RWD or FWD...

I would suggest those, and abide by them...
MyOpinion
You could always call up the drivers from last year, arrange a meeting and see what they think would be best.

laci, do you want front wheels only or both? front wheel drive only, keep a tire rule, no engines with dual overhead cams.no quad 4s or ford mazda engines no turbo engines. stick shifts allowed, 5 degrees max camber front 1 degree in rear, no race springs or shock/struts and to keep the cost down either claim on the whole car like crystal/I-96 $800 buys car minus seatbelts, fuel cell and tires and wheels but you must provide spares to get the car home, and at those tracks anyone from the stands can buy the car . it is a way to keep the cost down.

Copy Berlin's rules.. they aren't running a full schedule.. run them on the nights they don't. just an idea, not an endorsement.

this would be a great thing you might get more supers this way

Can you run front hoops in the LS at Owosso?

The best advice I can offer for supers, stay away from Berlins rules.

Stick with the Alliance rules, run the hoosier 45 and 35 tire.

2700 lbs 60% left side and an 8" spoiler

If the track is consistent and pays well without forcing people to buy 4 tires they will get good car counts with a mixture of top notch cars and the cars with less money will also come.

If they do those things, are you going to race there?

I was there at all 3 last year and would go back as long as the money is right again.

I know the track likes to make you buy 4 tires at 480 a set and that means a profit of $80 per set but look at it this way.

The fast cars will but tires either way, teams like Tim Steel buy 2 sets to practice and race on. The other teams like Cliff Pulley or Rod Laney cannot always afford 4 tires and wont come.

So why not make it optional to buy tires or not or only make it mandatory to buy 2 tires. Leave all the teams options.

I raced Auto City last year and both of the 60 lap races I ran used tires and I finished 7th the first time and 2nd the other. Definately helped pay for tires at other shows.

YES YOU CAN. CAN BE FOUND IN SECTION B RULE i OF OWOSSO SPEEDWAY RULES. THANKS FOR ASKING.
acleadsled3
I think in your pure stock class you need to be close enough to Dixie bombers and Auto City leadsleds so more drivers might try your track. With the rules being different you will not get any ac or dixie driver to try you out. Also some drivers run fridays at dixie but dont care to run at Auto City on saturday so they might come to your track.
