Following the success of last year's event, Tom Urban is once again putting together the "Mt. Clemens Get Together" on January 26th, 2008.

The event will be at the Kart 2 Kart indoor karting facility, however at this time it is not clear if it will be at the present site in Sterling Hts. or if it will be in the new site they are opening up on 14 mile rd. in Madison Hgts. Details of location will follow at a later time.

Racing will be available and Tom needs a head count as to who will want to race the karts. You can contact Tom directly at 586-939-9581 or leave me a PM here on MSTRC and I will get him the information. It would also be good to let Tom know if you plan on coming so he has an idea of attendance prior to the event.

Last year featured racing in the karts with heat races and a slow and a fast feature along with many people bringing out pictures and old memorabilia remembering the lost speed plant. There were many acquaintances renewed and friendships re-kindled. I think the lies and the stories got even better than they were back in the old days. There will also be some old tapes of racing at "The Mount" being shown so you can re-live those Double-O's and watch Hanley, Fair, Biederman, Mallott, LeMay, Sommers, Roumell, Johnson, Lucido, Monaghan and the rest of the gang going after it.

If you were a Mt. Clemens fan or a racer come on out on the 26th of January and take a step back in time, you'll be glad that you did.

Tell Tom I'll be there, but this year I am going to try to drink more beer than Carl Scholz! Then maybe I can keep up with the stories with Bob Slawinski.

As always, Auto City's banquet is on that day. I will not be at the Mt. Clemens event, but my dad and the rest of my crew will be there!

Please bring YOUR old racing videos so that we can play them at the 2007 get together at Kart to Kart.

WE NEED TV's and VCR'S FOR THE 2007 GET TOGETHER,,, bring them with you.

I won't be able to bring a TV as I will be lucky to bring myself. More than likely I will still be on crutches. That would be tough for carrying a TV. There will be enough TV's there though.

Arnold is right though, bring your tapes, your pictures, your memorabilia. You will for sure have a great time seeing old friends and re-living thse lies, oops, I mean stories from days gone by.

The get together is going to be at the original Kart to Kart located on Van-Dyke just north of 18 Mile rd.. Anyone who is planning on racing needs to contact Tom Urban by phone, 586-939-9581 or e-mail (fourtyford@comcast.net) and let him know.

If you are racing you need to be there by 5:30 for registration. If you aren't racing then just show up any time after 6PM abd the party will be in the meeting room where it was last year.

The date is the Saturday after the MARFC Banquet, January 26th. Have a great time and sorry to say this (it actually kills me) but I will not be in attendance as I am having my knee replaced on the 21st of January and don't expect to be in any condition to go at that point. There is always next year though.

Tom promises a surprise guest also. I know that He went to the Checkered Flag reunion this year so you never know how many Canadians may show up now.
