so i know u all will completely disagree with Owosso Speedway being the oldest track but it really is! i do understand they call Whittemore the oldest track, well folks, that is a false statement. Whittemore seen the first green flag back in 1948, but seven years before that, Owosso Speedwat dropped the green flag while everyone made there way out of turn four on May 21st of 1941! i looked all of this information up! i was very excited.! This season at Owosso Speedway we will be celebrating not only a great racing season but our 67th anniversary! Hope to see you all at the big o, but before that the banquet!

I guess the point is Whittemore is the oldest continually operated track in the state and Galesburg is second oldest continually operated track.

Exactly, just like Whittemore says it is. I also don't see how its the 67th anniversary 2008-1941=67-2 (POW camp) = 65

Whittemore says it is the oldest continuous operating speedway in Michigan.
It has been open since the day it opened. No intermittant closings for any reason.
That is a true statement.
Thank you.

I believe Dale meant the 67th anniversary of the track opening.

They closed down in 2007, Probally the fastest closed to open turnaround in racing history. Now that's somthing to be proud of.

Racing was never interrupted... I hardly think that can count.

Racing has been interrupted at Owosso Speedway since 2002. Well, not technically.
