Happy Thanksgiving To All;

Here's answers to some of the questions that have been asked about the upcoming 2008 SUPERPRO Series season:

SCHEDULE:

As of now, we have races set at Angola (2) (May 24 and August 23) and Baer Field (2 OR 3) (May 31 or June 7) (August 1 or August cool.gif (Sept.13). We will also have one and possibily two at Plymouth, two at Spartan and at Springport (depending on sponsorship). We are also still working on one or two more tracks for events. Ten to twelve will be our limit.

RULES:

I don't see any major rule changes coming. We will remain on the same tire (American Racer EC 21 (lefts) and EC 31 (rights). The two tire rule will be in effect at all races with the possible exception of the Gold Cup 100 at Baer Field. We are in the process of buying some tech tools to help PB in carb area. A list of acceptable shocks will be posted and strictly enforced.

POINTS:

Look for a revamp of the point system. More points will be given for the lower finishing positions and appearance points will be awarded for each car at each event.

REGISTRATION AND ENTRY FEES:

We are looking at eliminating the yearly registration fee and going with a per race fee of $50 for a pre entry and $75 for a post entry at each race. More on this later.

WEBSITE:

I know the website has been disappointing recently. Some changes will be made soon to make it more user friendly and to possibly include a weekly chat room. More on this later.

I hope this helps everyone to get their season started. A ticket order form for the banquet will be below. Please order your tickets as soon as possible. Thanks for being part of the SUPERPRO family and have a happy holiday season.

SUPERPRO IS ALIVE AND WELL AND READY FOR 2008.

Super Pro Teams have the potential for a nice Memorial Day Holiday Weekend with two shows in two days....

Saturday May 24, 2008 after racing at Angola (IN) Motor Speedway, teams can make the trip West on I-80 to the Grundy County (IL) Speedway in Morris, Illinois for the USPRO Cup Series Illinois 50 on Sunday May 25, 2008.

The two tracks are only 3 to 3 1/2 hours apart.

And Vice Versa, the USPRO teams can make it a double header weekend too. This kind of cross promoting can work for both series and be of benefit.

It would really be neat to see some regional sponsor come up with an encouragement for the weekend in order to have a Memorial Weekend Championship based on the performance in both races. Maybe even, in the spirit of series competition, a Superpro vs USPRO Memorial weekend.

but what about the tire rules? Pretty sure USPro isn't using the same American Racer tires (could be wrong there) as Superpro, so if you wanted to run both races you need to purchase 2 tires at the Superpro race and then go and buy 4 new tires at the USPro race. Not really helping the cost of the sport there.

Let them run both tires, it worked at Auto City. A Hoosier was fast car and a American was feature winner.

Thats the problem though, if its a series they have set rules on tires, they don't want to make exceptions for other tire manufacturers. That was one of the main problems for us Superpro guys at Auto City. We could either buy the Hoosiers so we could get a faster qualifying time and be up front most of the night and get to use those tires only at Auto City or buy our normal American Racers and get a worse qualifying time but get to use the tires at more than one track.

It's a dumb idea to have more than one tire choice at a race. It's either run the tires the series runs or don't go the race, simple as that.

What tire does USPRO use?
TaBOGIE
Likely a bias ply HOOSIER, that is the brand of tire ASA runs. 99% possitive
