I'll probably take heat for putting this poll up here....but what the hell. I doubt anyone would want to make a desicion based on this poll, but it may show the feelings of our small cast of characters posting regular on this subject.

Too bad cause there will be no Hoosiers at Spartan at all this year from what I read. Hope you have a nice year there Spartan Speedway. Maybe with less cars you can give better turn 2 service to those who are lucky enough to be in the service club. I do not see the 911 going there at all cause it will not be a cost effective
move.

They were going to switch Spartan Speedway to Hoosier 970's exclusively, but they were short ONE VOTE....
Who didn't go to the meeting???????

Here's one of the big reasons Spartan will race on the American Racer this year - it's called SERVICE. In order to run Hooisers, you have to go pick them up at Lakeville, Indiana, put your own tire changer in, hire someone to run it, and maintain an inventory. Another problem arises when you have a problem with a tire. With Wayne and Jeff being there on a weekly basis, service is no longer an issue. There might be those who think running and maintaining two speedways isn't very time consuming and taking a day out of the week to run to Indiana isn't a problem - but it is.
The American Racer tire that was decided on is a harder compound than last year's tire and will last longer, although there were some who didn't have problem with wear in 2007. Hopefully this settles an issue and we can get to racing........
And all this time I thought Dick Mauer had finally quit his bitching and complaining and taking his cheap shots....what a fool I was.

Bill like I said, RV Performance could supply you guys with the hoosier tires. It would solve the problem of you guys trying to buy and travel to Indiana. Bob supplies the CRA series and of course all the ASA series

Short 1 vote,I did not hear of a vote. It was settled before the meeting and they said so.
Bill, stating my opinion is not a cheap shot. If the deal wasn't so cheap it would be unfair to say things.
Kill the mods for a few tire sales is cheap. Most want Hoosiers and some thing else is stuffed up our asses. THAT is cheap shotting all mod racers.Leave mods alone and finish off the supers.
A tire changer is not that expensive. 2 screw drivers will do just fine.We use nitrogen anyway.
I wish I could run my tire business with someone else supplying the tools and I just make profit.
If some one spoke up and said they would let the mods do what the rest of the world is doing I would have something respectful to say but that is not the case.
One mod pavement track in the state runs their own brand of tire and we are not happy about it.My vote is in.
Isn't it nice that by changing the tires the one who want change also stand to make a tidy profit from said change of tires. Kinda like letting politicians vote for their own pay raise.
Claude has stated where tires can be obtained. everyone else has no problem.

If you guys are going on the 704 compound of American Racer the tire deal will be all but done as these tires last forever with good speed too!!!They are very repeatable. If this is the case you guys will ask where have these tires been for the last few years. We run them on our factory stock cars in the U.P. and are lasting 7-10 nights on a 3400 lb car imagine on a mod.
Bill
This is just my opinion!!!
Everyone hates change but I truly think there is more to it than lining pockets as you all think!!!

Dick- You're right. they weren't one vote short.
However, what I'm pointing out is that you lost the right to complain about ANYTHING that was decided at that meeting when you did not attend to voice your opinion.
Same goes for anyone else who did not go, including myself. I intended to be there but got sick and didn't go.
Buy 4 of the tires and visit Spartan 8 times with them. They will last just fine.
All you have to do is commit to going there enough to use up four tires- Which could be almost the whole season for you since your four wheel setup is superior to all the rookies that run Spartan.

Was anything changed except for the tire? Why are non and seldon racers allowed to vote. I will go to the super meeting since anyone has a vote on stuff that they are not qualified to judge.
All that was lost is one car from the field. I am going to look at dirt chassis. Vote with your attendance and race car.
You buy all the tires you want.I am sure the fans will watching the backrunners spin out several times each race..They make up the biggest voting block anyway.
Enough for me.

Dick- Anyone who runs mods, ran mods, has a mod, wants a mod, or has considered getting a mod, or anyone interested in mods or modifieds was invited to that meeting.
The meeting was intended to discuss making the mod class better in any way possible and not just about tires.
It's not fair that you chose not to attend that meeting and now you are mad at everyone who went, and also the people who held the meeting.
Dirt sounds fun...have a blast.

Claude, drivers meeting are really informational not input oriented anyway. But you knew that. I am going to look at a dirty car tonight.
I have other things to do in the winter than go to a meeting when all decisions have been made in advance.
I have been to meetings for 20 years and have not had a driver request taken seriously. The fact is you guys wasted your time but had a little fun. I was working cause that is what I do in the off season. It helps pay for parts after christmas is over and buying season starts.
I had 911 called on me so many times I just called my car 911. Just say Dick and they know where to go anyway. They usually send 2 cars to my house and 2 to my shop with out mentioning last names.
I may take you up CLaude, rum and coke not beer. I go party with Cmoore racing in Taylor often. Come with us some night but tell your woman Chuckie is all hands after a few gallons of rum.....
Like Mike says we don't have any rights. Except to go elsewhere.I think I will go race with Rick Stout again. There are more converted ashpalt guys there than there are mod asphalt racers at Spartan.
