Also of note, Gonzalez was not in attendance at the Two (2) USPRO Cup Series events at the Winchester (IN) Speedway in Winchester, Indiana. However, Gonzalez did shoot photos at the rained out USPRO Cup Series race that was eventually rained out at the Owosso (MI) Speedway in Ovid, Michigan. Those photos are available on the Owosso ASALMS Northern Division page.
Gonzalez completed his first season with the ASALMS in 2007 shooting pictures for all ASALMS events throughout the year. From 2003-2006, Gonzalez was the Official Photographer at the 0.500 Mile Semi-Banked Paved Oval of the Illiana (IN) Motor Speedway in Schererville, Indiana, near his home in Lansing, Illinois. The 46-year-old got started in motorsports photography in 1991 and primarily in asphalt racing.
In 1995, Gonzalez went to the famed dirt track of the Santa Fe (IL) Speedway. During the next few years his passion for photography and dirt racing grew. In 1997 Gonzalez was given an opportunity to become track photographer at the Kankakee (IL) Motor Speedway as well as the LaSalle (IL) Speedway for the famed Izzo family.
In addition to his weekly track responsibilities, Gonzalez started traveling throughout the Midwest photographing many of Dirt Late Model racings’ special events. In order to maintain a more open schedule for special event coverage and project assignment, Gonzalez decided to decrease his weekly track responsibilities but still maintained his position at Illiana.
Over a 16-year career, Gonzalez’s photos have been published in such publications as; Dirt Late Model, Stock Car Racing Magazine, Circle Track Racing Magazine, Speedway Illustrated, Muddslinger, National Dirt Digest, Behind the Wheel, Midwest Racing News, Muddslinger, and many more.
During the past several seasons, Gonzalez has added digital imprinting to enhance his photography business. This gives his customers more choices for gifts and collectibles. Fans, drivers and sponsors now have additional ideas for that next great promotion or celebration. Please check his on-line store to see all the great items that digital imprinting has to offer.
Gonzalez and his wife, Sandy invites everyone to check out the C.G. Photos website and feel free to contact him either by phone: 1 (708) 418-5083 or by email at: cgphoto@ameritech.net
