Full Version: Looking for a l/s end of February & other

I noticed a lot of people are getting rid of their equipment. I will be looking to buy a lead sled around the end of Feb.

I would like a solid turnkey set up for AutoCity. I don't mind if I need to make some light fixes and replace the body, I won't have time to do a complete teardown before the season starts.

If you have something, let me know the details, extras & price. I could probably scrape up a downpayment if it makes or breaks the deal for the right ride.

I'm also getting ready to crank the ebay business back up. If anyone has some equipment they want to move, I usually do pretty good getting the best for your money. I take 30% right off the top of the selling price. You don't have to do anything, I take the pictures, shipping, etc. It's not a bad deal. I worked with a guy that had about a dozen old OEM manuals that were in good condition. He handed me the manuals, 2 weeks later, I handed him a check for $650. I generally don't mess with anything I don't think I can get more than $50 for. It's too much work for the $$. Also, anything over 50 lbs, I only sell locally (pick up only). Over this, you have to go to freight which is about $300 to leave the front door. You can go up to a max of 150lbs with UPS, but they really gouge you on the shipping for the overweight items. It's not worth it. (if anyone knows of a cheaper shipper, I'm listening).

This is my old ID (24parker), I will be adding a business account for Stribeck Racing LLC.

Shoot me a pm. I'm booked solid through Dec. 14th. After that, lets talk.

If you still have it in another month & a half, we might be talking. I have a few offers to look over, so I don't want to commit to anything right now. Thanks

Us poo folk think racin cost too much, but paint should go on tomorrow (interior) Than pretty much small stuff wires, dist, batt, fluids, and paying off the motor. Ill probly have all done by early May. Just rounding up the funds to finish. You want to stop by and help work on it well be in the garage most the night tonight!

I'm telling you, if it's not one thing it's another. We could conceivably be ready in 3 weeks IF nothing else went wrong and we manage to find a body at some point in time. I have to run the truck into the shop tonight, something is making a racket in the front of the engine. Probably a/c bearings or something; hopefully nothing major.

Everybody here said that it's tough to put into words exactly how much work this thing involves. No joke. What I would have never guessed is that I have spent much more time chasing around parts & people than I have working on the car. That I didn't plan on.

I'll be there, might be a month late, but I'll be there! I'm kind of echoing Chads sentiment in another post, why the f!@# didn't I buy a boat? Something gets in your head and this feels like what I'm supposed to be doing right now, so, what are ya gonna do?

Go forth and enjoy every moment of it, remember, not very many people get to do what you will soon be doing, you will find it more than rewarding. Despite what you sometimes read on this site and others, there is a reason why people return year after year to this sport.

You will soon know the reason why.

have a good day,

norm...my car was in peices when bought it....it had dents all over it...we busted our ass and pounded out the dents but the body back together...went throught the brakes and shocks.....now when i look at the finished product i say WOW...I did that...it really is a great feeling....you wont be disappointed....

but im going to take a sledge hammer and put the first dent in it...just so noone else gets the satisfication of doing it...ill be at the track about the same time you are...still waiting on the motor have fun
