just checked Owossos web site and they have hired a lawyer to try to ease the restrictions the twp has on them could this mean a possibile move to fridays

It has been awhile since any one from the track has posted on the web-site, but we have been hard at work preparing for the 2008 season. The number one project is an attempt to get the county to "ease-up" on the restrictions that the track must operate under.

A Lawyer has been retained, a motion has been filed, and a hearing date has been set for the second week in January. This is the first step; the hearing could show results, or it could be the opening round in a much longer battle. We will keep those who are interested informed via the web-site.

At this time we have not firmed up a schedule in the hope that the court will treated us kindly and we will have more latitude in developing the 2008 schedule.

Well, I tell you what, I wish them all the luck in the world.

Once a township has made rules, and enforced them, they are hard pressed to go backwards.

And having dealt with these particular individuals, it will be an uphill battle at best. It isn't just the township here, it is the County also.

I really hope the lawyer attained is a friend of someone's there, otherwise the fees could mount to an astounding number. This will take a lot of time, and lots of patience, and a lot of money.

If you have trouble getting fans to come out on saturdays how and the world makes you think they will come on a friday nite getting home from work getting the kids ready to go NOT won't happen and I can think of a few late models that will race another track , I myself and a team mate can't race on Fridays due to jobs So good luck with that .

Maybe they are looking at a Sunday race?

I say you stay Saturdays , just because a track changes thier day doesn't mean the racing world in Michigan gets in a up roar over it and run and hide. Drivers never come from that track and never will till now because they won't race thier on saturdays . Owosso has run on saturdays how long and has always done good till the last 3 or four years because thier was no promoter to take care of buisness and now they have one so leave things alone and promote the track !

I think Fri or Sun is a brilliant move for Owosso you may just get a few of the AC/Dixie cars that otherwise have no chance to run the big O. Owosso needs promotion and car count!

They might not be dealing with the same people with the Twp it's been a few years

i have raced at owosso many times on sundays. they were a sunday track for many years. i also raced at springport and angola on sundays. i never knew why a track wouldn't want to race on sundays. i always liked racing on sudays, and will do it again

I think that would be a good idea i would race there on a friday or sunday

Sundays.. with races starting by 4:30 or so ....so families can get home at a decent time....I would come more ......I used to go to dixies on sundays for yrs...but had to leave by 10 pm for work the next day
