Any thoughts as to how much this class will pay at A/C? and hopefully they wait for good weather (mid May) to start racing on Fridays

I doubt it will pay much more than FS, Fridays will be a disaster for AC and will be the final straw IMHO, there are just too many people with jobs that can't race on Fridays and fans for that matter

really?? here is a count of cars that took points in the 07 season on friday nights at dixie.

bombers-55
plm-34
f.s-47
mods-36
sportsman-27
supers-46
f-8(i am sure all of them also counted as bombers also)-22

that is 245(not counting f-8) guys that could make it at least once on a friday night. my feeling is that if a/c ran the same show that dixie "gave up" they would do ok car and fan wise. i bet, for every person that likes running or spectating saturdays, there is at least 1 that does not.

Its not if you "like" running Fri or Sat most people have jobs that need to be worked on Fridays, I could take a couple Fridays off a year and make a few races, but not every Friday and I am not in a minority

"like" has a every thing to do with it... if you do not "like" racing on a certain day you won't go.....no matter how hard or easy it is to go. if you do not "like" waiting untill saturday to see a show, then you most likely will not go to see that show. i don't "like" the cot, so i would be more likely to go see or wach on t.v. a bush, or whatever they call it now race.

as far as the local shake up on only saturday night racing in this area goes, we will find out in time.......you will have to keep me posted.

dixie had some really good car counts on fridays and a really good fan base on friday nights as well. so i guess my thought is if dixie is now closed on friday nights then those fans and cars will go to a track that is close, like auto city, to run and see a race on friday nights. if auto city sticks with their programs and the rules and treats everyone pretty good then they will have a very excellent year. all of this is in my humble opinion though, lol.

sorry, but I have to steal my own thread for a minute. If the average race fan has X number of disposable dollars then wouldn't you want to be the first one in line ( as a race track) to collect some of that money?(ie.. race on Friday) If the disposable income is spent on Friday then there will be less dollars to spend on Saturday. I don't know any employers who pay on Saturdays. I have to believe this was part of Dixies' success on Fridays. Most fans can make a Friday night show. I know it is more difficult or impossible for some racers to make Friday shows. I'm not saying A/C should only run Fridays, but with a well managed show, the Fridays could be successful.

Im pretty sure thats the thought behind that. Get the cash while you can.

I hope they pay the same as Dixie does for Sportsman or it wouldn't be worth it. IMHO.

What most do not know is that less than 10% of the fans do not go to both tracks.]AC-Dixie]
A servay was done in 2000 that bore this out.

Thats interesting Craig.

Do you know who conducted the survey?
CaptainCam
For one, that survey was done eight years ago. I also contend the numbers based on the fact that I saw ALOT of racers from one track attending the others races with their family and friends. I know some that couldn't race on friday but went to watch, and others that did the same on saturday, including myself. I also saw a group of track workers from Dixie attend AC regulerly on sat. nights. I am sure this worked the other way as well.

If you have 1,000 fans 10% is 100 fans and yet some say they saw a few fans. Lets be optamistic and say 2500 in the stands and now you can see how less than 10% [250] is not an unrealistic number.
Look how few drivers ran both tracks. Most if not all fans go to watch some one they have a conection too. That means if there driver is not racing at that track, they are not at that track.

This is true, I didn't look at it that way.
