Hey ya'll! This is TRG with a headline from NASCAR.com

Carl Edwards is looking to make a new law...

"NASCAR should make a rule that makes it completely illegal to resurface a racetrack -- ever," was the tongue-in-cheek comment from Edwards, ''

He goes on to say that if they resurface a track, it would be like driving on the interstate, not racing.

In all reality, NASCAR could probably never do this...but here's to dreaming!!

What do you think? Is Edwards right? Should NASCAR make it illegal to resurface?

thanks,

Some tracks have their surface tore up by the race cars and if it doesn't get repaved there'd be no traction.

After a while all the pavement would be torn off and then they would have a dirt race biggrin.gif

Carl would whoop all their butts if they ran on dirt, I personally would love to see Edwards in the ARCA race running on the dirt. Can we start that rumor and see if an ARCA car owner bites on it?

Ooooo...that would be a fun rumor...maybe I can tell a crew guy I know and we can get Carl to run DIRT!! He is AWESOME at dirt...hmmm...what a great idea!!! actually jk...but it would be fun!!

Carl is great on dirt. I have seen him, afterall he did win the Prelude To The Dream last year at Eldora. That was an awsome race, can't wait for this year, tickets go on sale next month.

So what then.....if they can't ever repave/resurface when the track gets too bad are they always supposed to tear it out and put in an entire new track? Seems like that would be a might expensive.

A track shouldnt get in too bad of condition, heck youre not driving loaded semis on it, you just have a gay little nascar parade on it a couple times a year.
