The Brian "WILD CHILD" Heeney 100 lap modified race at Spartan Speedway will be on May 30th. Lap sponsorship is $10 per lap. The lap leader of that lap gets the $10. Example if MaddMike leads laps 12 - 15 he would make an extra $40, provided all laps are sponsored. Please send me either a PM or email,
ktfor3@hotmail.com, if you want to sponsor a lap. Please include in the PM or email which lap you would like to sponsor and which race or races you would like to sponsor and what you would like name you would like down as the sponsor. I will get back to you ASAP with the address to send the money and if that lap is available.
Lets get all 100 laps sponsored and help make this an even greater race! For more information about this race please

NEW TIRE RULE FOR MODS AT SPARTANThis is from Jim Leasure, he asked me to post this.
Spartan and Springport new tire rule -
For the remainder of the season Spartan and Springport will allow the mods and sportsman divisions to compete with either the American Racer or the Hoosier 970. There will not be any penalty associated with use of the 970.
I talked to Jim tonight and I believe the number of tires bought in a night is also being eliminated will get this confirmed.

keith,
How does this work, is the lap sponsorship money spread throughout the purse, or does it go to the lap leader on that lap, or can you designate it, or... ?
Just curious, nice work, I'm just a little confused by what the plan is.

Me too... Especially at Spartan, The lap leader money often just goes to whoever is lucky enough to start on the pole. It's good, don't get me wrong, but that's why the money I was able to put in last year went to the hard charger from the back of the pack. This year I'm less able to help, but give me some time and I will come up with something...

This money is for whoever is leading the lap. I hope to get every lap sponsored.
Something like the hard charger is a contingency award. I will take these as well.
MaddMike, sorry if you don't like lap money. I'm doing this to help try and make these 3 races something more special. A lot of the bigger shows do this, the Winchester 400 has lap money. The Glass City used to do it, don't know if they still do.
MaddMike
Feb 15 2008, 01:13 PM
Don't think I don't like it....
I'm just saying that whatever I'm going to be able to come up with will go to a driver who earns it in a different way... I like to reward the less fortunate who work just as hard as anyone else...

Or you could sponsor the parade lap... problem is the pole sitter will probably win it.

i like this idea.but isnt it hard to score or keep track of who gets what on what lap..i mean if mad mike was in 12th on lap 33 and the lap money was upto $60..for lap 33 in 12..he gets the 60 right..but now you have 22 cars and different money for different positions on different laps..dosent that get really hard to keep track of.of who gets what. on certain laps...i feel for the scorers..but its a really cool deal

This isn't as hard as it seems when you use transponders.... The program that scores the transponder shows the position of every car, every lap.

This is the next big event to be held on May 30. About half of the 100 laps are sold. Northside Service has stepped up and sponsored 1st place in the dash for cash. Spots 2 - 6 are still available as is the fast time award. I will be sending out reminders to people that have pledged money for this event as I was scrambling to collect for the Stan Perry Race.
If you have not sent out your money for the laps you have sponsored here is the address to send it to -

If paying with check please make it out to Keith Thompson. I know I said Spartan Speedway but making it out to me is easier. Found that out with the Perry race.
Thanks
