I read in Sports Illustrated that when Mears contract was up, Jr is going to lure Truex over to hendrick.

Another reason I dont like Junior, already trying to stir up controversy? I think he should realize that he doesnt own 49% of this team. What would Casey have to say about this? Junior can try to do whatever he wants, Casey Mears will prove himself this year he belongs.

So far (publicly) Gordon and Johnson are being team players. They are the 2 that would be the whiners though. Dale truely is a team player, and Truex would be no different.
Regardless of the skill that Mears has and can show this year, I know that Truex would be an excellent 4th TEAMmate if for some reason Mears goes in another direction.
Gordon was already whining and pouting last year when Johnson was stealing his thunder...Let's see how well he can handle being one of 4 good Hendrick cars now rather than the only good one like he got to be for so long...

THIS IS ASSUING JR. RUNS GOOD ALL YEAR RIGHT? AFTER ALL, WE'VE ONLY RUN A COUPLE NON-POINTS RACES AT A TRACK WHERE HE HAS RAN GOOD IN THE PAST. LETS SEE WHAT HE CAN DO AT MARTINSVILLE OR SONOMA BEFORE YOU START RANKING HIM WITH JEFFY AND JIMMIE

IN WHAT WORLD????? HOLY COW ASIDE FROM HIS RESTRICTER PLATE FINISHES HE IS AN AVERAGE CUP DRIVER. LOL, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW YOU FEEL HE HAS MATCHED THE PERFORMANCE OF THOSE MULTI-TIME CHAMPS. KEEP IN MIND I AM NOT A BIG OF JEFFY OR JIMMIE, BUT CMON HE HASNT EVEN MATCHED THE LEVEL OF THE GUY HE REPLACED!

that would be awesome!
truex seems loyal to jr regardless, so that would be an amazing combo for the four of them.
they are all a bunch of hard racers that will do thier best regardless
I can't believe I'm saying this but, GO HENDRICK!!

Juan Montoya has already ran better than Mears did at Ganassi. That was nice seeing the Dodges blow by them toy-oters on the last lap when DW was running his fat mouth about an all toy drag race. This toy o t a company will ruin Nascar.

Ya know, all you guys can say whatever you want.....all your little cute names for Gordon and Johnson......last time I checked there were 6, count them, 6 championships between those 2 drivers alone and JR has how many? Be real! If it was lack of equipment I guess this year will be a telling story huh? If it was the driver that will shine through too. As far as everyone being so high on Truex.....now that's an average driver. So what, he did well last year, let's see what he can do NOW THAT HE'S "THE MAN" at DEI, just like he was bragging about at the end of last year. I hope he's still excited that he's the marquee driver over there.........pfffft Martin Truex going to Hendrick, whatever!

I'm in Nashville for our national sales meeting, along with about 3500 other CARQUEST Team Mates and we had Rick Hendrick's as a guest speaker today for close to 1/2 hr.
I will tell you that Rick is very high on Casey Mears and I don't see him being booted from his ride in the near future. He feels that Casey & Alan Gufstesin are going to have some very good results in 08.
If it had not been for a split second mistake the last couple of laps he would have been the highest finisher for Herdrick. I would bet that Casey's spotter told him to move up in front of Tony, just a little to late, which caused him to get spun and hit the wall.

Tonights race at Fontana might help the move, Did you see Dale bite his lip on what he use to say ? Last year it would of been " Some don't know how to drive and wreck "

Well said! It seems to me they are the drivers to beat. Not Jr or anyone else. Were any of you haters watching that race last night? Oh by the way did they get that in? And another thing, You guys call Gordon a whinner, but I think he was very gracious in defeat everytime except for Martinsville. Its funny I used to be the same way about Rusty back in the day.

As for Jr. being on the same level as JJ and JG... could be... we might be able to find out if his teammate would not take him out.
DEI has been behind the curve on equipment for several years... if i remember right they were using Jr's test rig before the split because they didn't have one. Jr. ran really well a few years ago when DEI was one of the top dogs. DEI just didn't invest in the new technology when Gibbs and Hendrick did. There is more engineering and testing go on that ever before... try to cut expenses by cutting back on testing or engineering support and you will not be a mid-pack finisher on average.
Truex has shown some promise last year... Casey on the other hand has been so-so for several years.... i wouldn't be suprised by the switch. Giving up Bush could have been a mistake, but picking up Jr. was not....at least from the business side.

How can YOU blame Mears for that accident???
If you must cast blame, you better look right at the top of the heap, NASCAR. They should of never even started that race yesterday. We've had to deal with a "weeping" track on the local short track level, and know what you can, and can't do. At the speeds they go, there is NO way they should have even started it yesterday. In NASCAR's all mighty fight to race on the LEFT coast, they schedule a race during the most likely time of year for rain there, February!!! DAH!!! It was a pretty nice day in Rockingham, NC yesterday, hmmmmm!!!
Still want to blame Casey, go ask Denny Hamlin what he thought about the racing on that track yesterday!!!
And PLEASE!!! The ONLY place that Lil E is on the same level as those two are in merchandise sales, and popularity, and THAT is it!!!

First, I believe they had several drivers go our and look at the track. They decided it was ok to race...it wasn't all NASCAR.... so maybe there were some slick spots still that those guys didn't see...if that's the case then Casey found one....yes, Denny wasn't happy either...that makes 2... I was in all actuality joking...hence the smiley.
And yes, i'm well aware of the weeping problem in turn 3-4 at Springport.
As for scheduling or anything else.... i'm not condoning anything NASCAR does.
Like i said before... time will tell... seems so far that he and Eury Jr. are as good or better than the other teammates in the same equipment....ok, so maybe not in the race restart department. And...actually, he's probably equal to both the 24 And 48 in merchandise sales.
I was not trying to start anything here.

I here alot of remarks about certain manufactures in the Nascar about its for American cars but, Can you tell which cars are made in the USA ? I can give you a hint thier is only ONE (1) car made in the USA so hate to burst your bubble and spoil your day . So lets here it what car you think it is .

Tell that to the CTS drivers that Toyota is ruining their series, you mean.. they're dominating, what's the problem with that? Last I checked, the goal was to win?

Kyle is good talent wise but he has to grow up. Remember last year when he got out of his car threw an elbow at one of his pit crew who was trying to help him, then stormed off and left the track. Then Jr. jumped in the fixed car to finish. And when he brought the wheel back after they had a bad stop late in the race. He is very fast and talented but needs to learn how to use his skills in a smarter way. Like today I wish he would have cut a tire or spun himself out jamming his way under DJ on the last lap. No reason for that they were not going to catch him. He had Tony behind him to block so that other brand could win. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the only cars of that brand that are in contention are the Chevrolets they bought off over the winter the 20 and 18? The Rowdy Burns reference fits him well and I think that had a lot to do with his exit at Hendrick. He has talent, lots of it but his attitude has kept him from being even more successful in nationwide and cup. If he can learn to calm down, and to run only as hard as he needs to he could win alot of races I'm afraid.
I would be shocked to see Truex go to Hendrick. If they dump Mears or he leaves I would think that Brad would jump from the Nationwide ride to the open seat.

DJ had several laps to move over.
He shouldn't be racing the leader on the last lap like that anyway. I could see it if DJ were the leader, but come on...he was what 3 laps down??

Well I guess I must have missed all those laps that DJ had to move over I thought he caught him and Mikey and within the next lap passed them. Maybe I'm wrong. The point is it was a typical Kyle Busch checkers or wreckers move that very easily could have cost him the race on the last lap by messing with a lapped car.

Because it was a dumb risk to take! He needs to settle down a little so he doesn't give up a win LIKE COULD HAVE HAPPENED with DJ. And has happened before when he had good cars.

Either way... that's what your spotter is for... hey, we're 3 laps down, the leader is coming....move over.... and that would be well before he's riding your rear bumper!
It's not like there wasn't more than one lane.

Yeah that's true but being the leader with what a 2 second lead you'd think that you could use one of those other lanes since your car is so good. Oh well...It would have been funny if he threw it away by pushing the issue on the last lap. Hey maybe DJ and Mikey were looking for one of those team photo deals like at the Rolex 24 you know? Since it was the first win for that other brand they wanted to try to be in the picture with the 18.
