Team Finley Racing inks Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper Part Stores and Certified Service Centers and Crew Chief Bob Cumbow for the 2008 racing season.

DeWitt, Michigan (02/22/2008): The 2008 racing season will soon begin and DeWitt, Michigan based Team Finley Racing is gearing up for a full run at the 2008 ASA Late Model Series Northern Division Presented by GM Performance Parts Championship armed with Two major announcements!
Team Finley Racing and Car Owner, Jeff Finley are very excited to announce two important additions to the team for the upcoming 2008 racing season. Nationally know Aftermarket Auto Parts Chain, Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper Parts Stores and Certified Service Centers has signed on as a Major Associate Sponsor on the side of the Team Finley Racing machines for the 2008 racing season!
Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper Parts Stores and Certified Service Centers are no strangers to Motorsports Sponsorships as their colors are will be on the side of the #10 Gillette / Evernham Motorsports Dodges driven by Rookie contender, Patrick Carpentier in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
In addition, the #9 NASCAR Nationwide Series machine will also sport Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper colors at select races in 2008 with various drivers led by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series veteran, Elliott Sadler. Auto Value has also been the title sponsor for several years of the Michigan based Auto Value Super Sprints Series.
In another major announcement from the DeWitt, Michigan based team; 2006 ASA Late Model Series Crew Chief of the Year, Bob Cumbow has joined Team Finley for the 2008 racing season after spending the last two seasons calling the shots for 2006 ASALMS Northern Division Champion, Jesse Smith, who is concentrating on the ARCA RE/MAX Series as well as the ASALMS Challenge Division.
As for driver, Chad Finley who will turn 16 on March 17, 2008 plans call for him to make a run for the 2008 ASALMS Northern Division Championship. That chase begins on Friday and Saturday April 11-12, 2008 at the fast 0.500 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval of the historic Toledo (OH) Speedway, located right across the Michigan / Ohio state line in Toledo, Ohio with the running of the Glass Breaker 125.
After the addition of Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Parts Stores, New Crew Chief, Bob Cumbow, and even changing numbers from the #25 to the #42 made famous in the Midwestern Region of the United States by his Father and Car Owner, Jeff Finley, the sophomore pilot is eager to begin the upcoming season.
"I'm so excited to welcome a Crew Chief who is a true racer and loves the sport of late model racing and Howe race cars." An excited Chad Finley said about his new Crew Chief, Bob Cumbow.
"I look forward to him bringing leadership and development to this team that has been needed. He brings a true racing concept to us and will only bring good things to the Team Finley Racing stables." Chad added. "I'm excited to relieve my dad of his stress of trying to be the super hero of this team." He laughed.
"I'm thrilled to be joining Team Finley Racing and looking forward to working with Chad, Jeff and all of Team Finley Racing." Added Bob Cumbow. "I have a long term relationship with Howe Racing Enterprises, which is the chassis of choice for Team Finley Racing and I am excited to be back working with them."
"Chad has shown impressive skills and desire in his ASALMS starts and the family owned team is dedicated towards providing the best opportunity possible to allow Chad to compete competitively in the ASALMS Northern Division." Cumbow continued.
As for his ties with the Jesse Smith Racing Team, Cumbow will still lend a hand to the St. Louis, Missouri driver as 2008 plans for the 18-year-old Smith call for him to run a combination of ARCA RE/MAX Series races and ASALMS Challenge Division events.
"Working with Jesse Smith for the last two seasons has been enjoyable and rewarding to say the least! I will continue to assist Jesse and the entire Jesse Smith Racing Team with his ASALMS Challenge Division races in 2008 as often as I can." Cumbow ended.
As for the new partnership with Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper Parts Stores and Certified Service Centers, Chad Finley smiled big and added: “I look forward to the new partnership with them and the opportunities that it will bring to the table for me as a person."
"I look forward to the 2008 season and thank everyone at Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper. I hope to represent them well and sell their brand of high quality parts and service that will be on the number 42 Auto Value Parts Stores Chevrolet Impala and Ford Fusion." The younger Finley ended.

Car Owner, Jeff Finley, who has been hard at work during the off season, reflected on the two major announcements to kick off 2008: “This has been a great off season for Team Finley Racing! We were really excited with our number change and now adding Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper Parts and Service Centers brings whole new life to this race team.”
“Having been working with them this past month getting everything in order is a testament to there professionalism and commitment to this race team.” The Car Owner continued. “It opens many doors for us and we can not thank them enough for coming on board. They will be at the tracks with us as well as Chad making several personal appearances for them which will help market this race team.”
As for the addition of Bob Cumbow to the team, Finley broke out into a huge smile; “With Bob Cumbow coming on board as the Crew Chief shows my commitment to the future of Team Finley Racing as well as my deep belief in my sons’ abilities to get the job done behind the wheel.”
“Bob brings a tremendous amount talent and leadership to us and we are very excited to get started. When I approached bob and began talking with him, it was about the second sentence of listening to him i knew he was are guy!” Finley stated
“I called Chas Howe for a reference and he said; We think of Bob as family here at Howe Racing Enterprises, so if you can do it, make it happen" so here we go.” Finley ended.
As for his son, Chad, the DeWitt, Michigan teenager will begin his second full season of ASA Late Model Series competition in 2008 in the Northern Division after finishing 18th in the final 2007 Points Standings. This was despite missing the last Three (3) races of the 2007 season due to breaking his hand in a crash.
The injury occurred during the Hawkeye 100 Presented by Coors Light and Cassill Motors at the Hawkeye Downs (IA) Speedway on September 1, 2007. His Team Finley Racing crew, with three different drivers (Robbie Pyle, Mike Vannoy Jr., and Tom Fedewa) running at the end of the season, finished 11th in the Final Owners Points Standings.
In addition to running in the ASALMS Northern Division in 2007, Finley also ran weekly at the Spartan (MI) Speedway in the tracks Outlaw Super Late Models division where he became the youngest driver in track history to win the Rookie of the Year title!
Despite missing some events due to his ASALMS commitments, Finley still managed an impressive Sixth Place finish in the final points standings. The championship at the Mason, Michigan speed plant was won by Finley's Uncle, Doug Finley.
The soon to be 16-year-old Finley began his racing career at age 10 racing go-karts. The Great Lakes State teenager has accomplished a lot in his young racing career. In 2003 he finished Third in the East Lansing (MI) Kart Track Championship points.
In 2004 he was the East Lansing Kart Track Champion and in 2005 he was the Great Lakes Sprint Series Champion and Sixth in the World Karting Association (WKA) along with several poles and National Event Wins.
After spending parts of the 2006 season in an Outlaw Bodied Super Late Model at the Owosso (MI) Speedway and the Spartan Speedway, Finley made select appearances in the ASALMS Northern Division in an effort to gain experience for his run in 2007.
