Full Version: NASCAR on Fox is so annoying

As part ot Fox's pre-race show they acted as though these little kids asked Kyle Busch questions as part of his appearance at their school. What actually happened was they wrote questions for the kids to ask...hey, the kids could read, so what?
Fox didn't let Kyle answer most of the questions, only the ones they had video to cover, such as when he flipped his car.
If I'm going to catch some of the pre race show, give me information, facts, or a fun feature, don't show this weak contrived stuff. If I want that I'll watch wrestling. At least I only wasted 45 seconds of my life watching it before I headed back out to the basketball court. beatdeadhorse5.gif

I might be the only one BUT turning on the Radio and turning OFF the volume on the TV makes for a great race.

I like DW. He far more entertaining than any other broadcaster. Benny Parsons was good, but not really "entertaining" like DW. Rusty Wallace is just gawd awful.

And I think anyone who hates the "Boogity" thing just needs to realize racing is still redneck and I for one enjoy it.

I enjoy FOX coverage (I hate all prerace stuff) a lot more than any of the other broadcasters.

I ACTUALLY THOUGH THE CLIP WITH KYLE AND THE KIDS WAS KINDA FUNNY, ESPECIALLY WHEN THAT KID ASKED KYLE "DO YOU THINK MR. HENDRICK HAS SELLER'S REMORSE?"

BUT I'LL AGGREE WITH PART OF IT, FOR THE MOST PART ALOT OF THAT STUFF IS GETTING OLD.

NASCAR needs Larry Loynes! LOL

They take 10 mintures to explain something as if everyone is stupid.

DW is the Charles Barkely of auto racing, but the rated G version.

The RACE should START at the advertised time, NOT the pre race part, they would save an hour and a half. I prefer to listen to it on the radio.

i turn on the TV, turn off the sound, switch on the radio, and sit on the couch with my laptop, logged into trackpass with my earphones in listening to the scanner channels of my favorite drivers. THE BEST way to watch a race. No mike joy mixing up which casey is Kasey, and getting car numbers and sponsors wrong. The guys on MRN and PRN are great. I also like trackpass and the live leaderboard. I can track my fantasy team too. I LOVE it, and i hate technology, except when it comes to my races...lol...

Yesterday DW said "Gee's I hate to see all this side by side racing" WTF?

Well I have to be a different bird from the rest of you.
I like all the pre-race stuff. I watch all of it I can, I watch on the Speed channel as soon as coverage starts for all 3 series then I switch to the pre-race on the station broadcasting the race. Craftsman, Nationwide, or Sprint.

I think Speed TV and Fox give the best coverage, NBC and TNT is okay too, but ESPN and ABC suck. That is all just in televised coverage, I have no idea about radio, have only had to listen to a race a couple of times over the years.

Most of the commentators are alright on the various networks but there are a couple that get pretty irritating and just are not good at it. I like DW fine, he cracks me up sometimes with some of his comments. Rusty is not very good and is pretty boring. I think Dale Jarrett is going to be really good once he gets used to the role and into the swing of things as a commentator.

Please don't forget that the majority of the audience that Fox, NBC and others are targeting don't understand racing, or the cars, or the sport itself at all.

That is why they do so many things that so many of us consider useless, ridiculous and a waste of our valuable time we could spend on our own race cars.

But boy, those viewers sure know all about racing, provided it isn't happening at a short track near their home. Then, racing is something that is done by a bunch of drunken, wannabe hillbilly's.

Auto racing is being corrupted by yuppies, who should be called "cuppies", just like those of us who have ridden for years and rode the early Harley's and Brit bikes, (and still do ride the early Harley's) call the yuppy bikers rubbies.

(I know, derisive and mean spirited on my part.)

Oh well, just having a bad day, I guess.

have a good day,

Rubbies! I've been looking for a name for those people. I work with a couple. We also need names for a couple of others, maybe you can help with this as well:

People that dress up like Cowboys on the weekend.

Man or woman that drives a pickup that have never carried anything in the bed.

People that own full size 4x4 SUV's that have never driven off of pavement (there are a rediculous number of Hummers in Clarkston...hmph).

There are certainly a lot of know it all when it comes to racing! Everybody under the sun knows what "I oughta be doin". If I listened to everybody, I would have a car hoist in my garage that was fully insulated, forced air ventilation and 4 separate 220 circuits. I would have a 90 gallon compressor with a billion cfm, a 10' toolbox packed with Snap-On, Matco and MAC tools (none of the Craftsman crap), . Arc, tig, mig, acetylene welders, and a plasma cutter. 2 Ton pulley with a sliding steel overhead beam, 5 spare bodies, 3 spare engines, a 24ft enclosed ventilated 5th wheel trailer and (money permitting) a practice track.

I have stopped talking about racing a work banana.gif

Just to clarify, I'm strictly talking about the know it alls who have never went further than racing to the buffet line. The racers on this site and in person have been invaluable to me!

What about Kenny Wallace on speed he's sold his soul to act like an idiot i know he plays up the crowd but he's an isult to anyone wanting to see someone talking intelegently about whats going on in there garage and on the track

DW is funny when he says stuff like "them boys are knockin' the fire out of each other back there" mrn makes the race sound so exciting. they talk so fast so you get excited.
