Since no one has raised any hell here lately,, and the island is calm,, Was looking at Modified rules this weekend and noticed that the AMS (Mostly Ohio, and Winchester I think) rules are going to allow a fabricated front clip for "08&09" with 100 lbs added.. I also know that somehow the Florida Fastcar Mods are allowed to run Fab fronts,, say an Ellis car with one,, not sure if Steve did it or not.. Does this mean it is only a matter of time, before all/most of the good factory subs are gone?? I'm not sure why they are only looking at 2 years, but it does make thing very interesting,, especially if the rules for the race for Sam this summer state that those rules are also legal along with USA.

Oh boy Kevin this is sure to stir it up...

Let's get it on..

My thought is this, eventually it's going to go that way and I'm not sure we can do a lot about it. I'm going to read up on them so I'm ready when the day comes. Howe for example has provisions for a fab front, but the quirk is it's to the Camaro specs... Is that ok or on not? We'll see.

Happy Hunting

First off they have allowed them for the last 4 years. They are phasing them out because you can now buy brand new stock clips and they are trying to keep in line with all the other modified rules. Heres a novel idea take half the time you spend trying to stir things up and work on your car maybe some day we might be able to see it at the track. Just a thought

I'm very sorry I did not make it to ANY of your races.. I did run my dirt car 10 or so times last year, Had to take care of customers & work, Take care of my 90 year old mother, and have double knee repacement surgury,, so my season was a little off.. I'm also very sorry I did not notice the fab frame part in last years rules,, only noticed them this year when they were put in BOLD. Sorry us dirt guys are slower than you asphalt guys,,, Thanks also for the slam,, I thought Jimmy was the bad cop, guess not... I hope you have a great season,,,, and again I'm very sorry for my stupidity, and for asking a question.. I'm very aware that YOU and Steve are trying to make the best for the Mod series... I was just asking a question.... And don't worry I will not ask it on YOUR web site.

Oh heck why not mention it on the USA Mod site, someone has to keep giving Keith Grief! I mean look at their tech guys this year, "Fat Man" Lionel Perry! What a funny guy along with Jimmy, geeeeez no one will get any work done, they'll just be drinkin beer all day. Ok I've had my fun. Keith that's for not throwing the caution flag when I hit the wall at Rapid Raceway.

Something most people don't know about Lionel, is that he's a great cook as well. One time I was visiting Stan Perry's shop in Edgerton,Ohio and Lionel cooked supper that night. It was really good.
Lionel is a big teddy bear, it's hard to believe that he will be a tech guy for the USA Mods. I've never seen him agitated, but I don't think I ever want to either. My Wife is from Edgerton and grew up with the Perry Family and I've heard some wild stories.
