For me, a bad news item.
Kyle is giving up the 45 for McCumbee, at least for a while, to evaluate him for taking Kyle's place permanently?
Hate to see him not on the track, I've always enjoyed seeing him and his car out there. Not matter how he was doing, he gave it what he could.
First time in a long while we won't see a Petty on the track.
The times, they are a changin'
The old hippie of Nascar might be done. Doesn't portend good things for the short track mod racin' hippie. I don't want to see the day when I have to give up my seat. (last year was bad enough)
have a good day,

I was saddened by this also. I really like Kyle Petty and it will seem strange not having a Petty driving in the races, possibly ever again.
I would guess this has been a very difficult decision for them.

Caught the tail end of an interview with Kyle at the track yesterday, and noted the commentators talking about how "angered" Kyle seemed to be. Anyone know what that was all about, maybe the questions, or something else?
Never get to see cable except when we are playing somewhere and stay overnight, only have rabbit ears at home.

My take on what I have heard Kyle say so far and what the commentators have said is more Kyle being upset with the situation as a whole. How it is such a shame that the extreme cost of being able to stay competitive today it requires a major sponsor along with everything else falling into place and when a team is having a couple off years then decisions may have to be made that would never have been considered in the past.
He did say it was not his decision to step out of the car I did not get the impression that he was really that angry but rather more hurt that they have been pushed into this situation over the years and he is sad and frustrated.
