Looking over the entry list for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend, found Three (3) former ASA Late Model Series Champions on the list.

2005 ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division Champion;
Stephen Leicht-Asheville, North Carolina
#21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet

2006 ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division Champion and Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year;
Kelly Bires-Mauston, Wisconsin
#47 Clorox / JTG Racing Ford

2006 ASA Late Model Series Southern Division Champion and Rookie of the Year;
James Buescher-Plano, Texas
#32 Great Clips / Bruan Racing Toyota

Plus the only driver in ASALMS history to win a Feature in all three divisions (excluding USPRO);
Landon Cassill-Fairfax, Iowa
#5 National Guard / Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet

Also, have to mention one of our own home state drivers who cut his teeth right here in Mid-Michigan at Auto City, Dixie, and Owosso;

If the weather's nice I might come to watch. I just had my sinuses rotorootered and I'm on weight restrictions. I probably make it out in May, sometime. I'm not in a huge hurry.
