If its for a metric at Whittemore it will be much stiffer than a lot of the guys down south run.

Spring rates can be tricky... Alot depends on what style/type front end you are working with. Different front clips have different leverage ratios on springs. An example is: 68-72 Chevelle clip with a 750# spring actaully has the same spring rate at the wheel as a metric car with an 1100# spring due to where the spring sits on the A frame. Just something to keep in mind...

3500lbs spring are you racing Winchester or bristol with a very heavy car? If you have that stiff of a spring you will burn up and blister the tire bad. Most race cars these days are under 1000 lbs in the front and under 800 with a bigger sway bar. 850 to 950 in the right front of our sportsman car with a camero clip and 900 with our street stock/bomber that has a ford front end at 3500 lbs. If you are talking 3500 lbs total for the car weight we run 900 straight across the front and 125 right rear 150 left rear with the sway bar loosened up a little on dirt. On pavemnet try 950 right front 800 to 900 left front with the sway bar neutral or preloaded just a little. The rear go stiffer left rear between 175 and 250 and the right rear 225 or under. Faster center of the corner speed go straight up in the back or split it 25 pounds with the right rear softer to maintain bite off the corner. The less motor you have the less split you will need. The shocks go with a easy up shock on the right front and a heavy ie down on the left front then a lite tie down on the left rear if you are allowed to. Just some numbers that might get you in the ballpark.

Randy,
I'm pretty sure he meant for a car weighing 3500 total pounds.
