I was wondering what every one thought of AC's "best night" point system. Like? Dislike? and Why.

For members that are not familier with it.....AC is running LS and FS Fri. and Sat. back-to-back. For points, they are taking the better of the two nights points totals for the weekend.

The only thing that bothers me is that there could be two drivers getting the bonus points for winning the feature. And what are they going to do for double points night?

But what about rainouts? For example... Friday they run, Saturday it rains out then saturday racers are a week behind the friday racers!? Or vice versa, but either way that don't seem right..

That's a good point John........They would almost have to throw out Fri. points in that situation.

It's not fare to the teams that can't run both nights. Friday should be for money only and Saturday for points.
It appears AC is trying to get there crap together, i like what i see so far so i will just go with it.

according to management at autocity if you cant not afford to race both nights or have prior comments you should not worry about points after all wheres your priority's at

I don't know if it matters, but heres my take on it.

You shouldnt be able to split any night. They should have Friday night points & Saturday night points, with the same money each night. There's too many variables for people to get screwed with the current system, it might not happen now, or anytime soon, but it will -- and when it does, I can hear it already.

You should crown a Friday night champion and a Saturday night champion. This doesnt force X driver to race Saturday night if he breaks/wrecks on Friday night to try to stay alive in the points. However, if you win on Friday night -- you can take the whole weekend off, because well - you can do no better. You could go race elsewhere on Saturday nights, and or vise versa.

Again, I would vote for a champ on each night, and money the same -- have a special for more $$ on either one of the night and see who shows, but make it a non points event for whichever night it falls on.

I agree 100% Alot of people got hosed last week when they canceled Saturday. Only 8 cars on Friday will get points.

From what I hear now Auto City has split the Points. Friday nights and Saturday nights. I think this will work much better.

That's a fact. The track called me yesterday and confirmed that was the case. They are going to recalculate all of the points to date for the new setup.

I think you can only run for points one night. That way you cant win two champions. ( I think)

I dont think that is the case, otherwise what is your motivation to race both nights. Friday nights are only 8 or 10 nights of this season I'd have to check the schedule, but there are only 12 total Friday night races and the lead sleds will not run a few of them. Joe wants us to run both nights if he can get it to happen. Car counts are very low right now.

I heard six Lead Sleds last Saturday at Auto City, while Dixie had 21 on hand.

I dunno Lonnie Chad will be running Friday nights at AC. He will get the Caddy fast before too long. You got a pretty good head start on him either way, but that boy knows how to get around that 1/4 mile.
