I have found when skinning quarters, more is better. I use a air chisel. Start with the tail panel look for factory chaulk. That is a factory seam, cut upwords and along the gutter seam. Then cut the seam at the base of the window, and along the inner edge of the lip. I use the same philosophy with the door jamb, cut the factory seam at the rocker, and work up. Don't forget to seperate the floor and wheelhouse. If you can, cut the floor and wheelhouse. it's easier to clean up after the 1/4 is on a stand than to do it neat on the car.
Another way is to drill out the spot welds (all 3000 of them) and cut the sail.
Either way it's easier to trim a bigger piece, than fill gaps.
After you do one, it gets alot easier
Hope this helps
Thanks for the air chisel tip, that really helped. I got the junk panels off of the replacee, now I have to get the good panels off of the donor car. We'll see how it goes.
