How many factory stock drivers owners run power steering on your car? pros/cons??
Grant Campau
the first two years we didnt run power steering on our metric car.......it was a handful...then we got the chevelle with power steering and it was much much better.

Nick, Its not bad by yourself, but when you get in traffic and someone gets leaning on you sometimes its hard to correct with manual.

With power steering you can run more caster split and that has advantages in certain situations.

I have run both ways and I prefer power steering.

Waaaaaay back in the day James Farley had manual steering and took a hard shot to the wheel in the factory stocks. It jerked the steering quite violently and did some damage to his thumb if I remember correct. Manual steering transmits the shock to your hands more readily than power. Lots of old school types have told me about driving with their thumbs cupped outside the spokes just for that reason.
