I've been bugging my wife about buying a mod for a few years now and she finally is coming around to the idea. I have never run at the Zoo, not even Super Shoe so it should be interesting to say the least!

And you thought Berlin and its driver were tough, wait till you get to Kazoo. Some of the best in this state in many divisions are still wondering how to get around that joint.
But when you do, it is one of the best I have ever turned laps on.
So Rob, GET- R- DONE.

Yeah, I'm sure it will be tough. I'm definitely going to learn alot with a switch. It's not only that I've wanted to run mods for a long time now but.........it's also the track. Berlin is not what it used to be and we feel it's time to move on. I think one reason it's taken so long is the fear of the unknown but I figure you gotta fly sometime and that time is now!
Gov, I guess we need to do some stuff to my motor? You're the man so you must tell me what I need.

Yessir, he sure is.
Builds mine and I'm more than happy to have a Governor's Motorsports powerplant growling in mine. Especially with all of the aftercare and help that comes with it.
have a good day,

Gov, I will do that. Now I just need to figure out how I fit 2 chassis in my little shop! Oh, I know what I'll do.......I'll sell the sportsman chassis...duh....j/k lol
How much stuff do you think will transfer over from the sporty to the mod? Obviously I'd like to recycle parts if I can.
Matt, The Gov has always built my Berlin motor and I've never been dissatisfied either. I have full confidence in his knowledge and abilities and I know it will be even better for the modified at the zoo.

After 3 years on dirt this is my first time ever racing on asphalt - we are running a Sportsman at Kzoo. The frustrating part is that most everyone has their act together so as a rookie to both the class and asphalt I feel like I'm in left field when I see my lap times vs. the rest. This is just a "takes time" thing though. The good side is that Kalamazoo has a great facility going for them, the owner and all officials have been very good to talk to, the pay has been exactly what is posted on the website, and the shows are run quickly and efficiently. The order of practice is just about always posted by Saturday morning on the website so you know what time you need to be there and how much time you have. Mods and LM's seem to be the biggest classes. Rob if you have a Sportsman already why not bring it out to Kzoo? You could at least get seat time before having a mod next year?

theres is no "give me's" at kazoo thats for sure. it took us 4 years to finally get our stuff together enough to win a championship in the sportsman class. we took a year off from there last year, decided to build a new mod and its like starting all over. BUT........there is no place i would rather race when it comes to the facility, the management and the competition level. when you win there, you have earned it. i agree the sportsman deal is a great place to start. car count getting better, good racing and great competition.

Rob,,, if you are looking,, I may have a turn key or roller for sale at the end of the season, which I will let go for a very reasonable cost.. Either retireing, or going to Big Car dirt only.. Family time is becoming premium.

My sporty is in pieces.......stripped down to the bare chassis. I'd love to get seat time at the Zoo in my sporty but, K-zoo's sporty class has way suprassed Berlin's sportsman class. I will get some seat time at the Zoo.......... in a mod.....by seasons end if all works out. I also plan on being at the Boyne 200 in a mod at Berlin as a kind of farewell race. I love the track that Berlin is but the management leaves alot to be desired. I want to race somewhere where you get fair treatment no matter how fat your wallet is. I want to be apprciated for putting on a show. Hell, the pure stocks at the zoo put on one helluva show and seems to be appreciated. They get more pay than a Berlin sporty too!
