Im sure Matt will have a full race recap on here, or on www.asalatemodels.com

In case there are any followers that are curious, Sean Murphy won the ASA Challenge Series Race at the Pride of Iowa 150 this weekend at the beautiful IOWA Speedway. The facility is amazing, if you ever get a chance to race there, DO IT! It is a very fast, very smooth race track. The track is very fast, a few people were playing around with a radar gun and clocked the cars going into turn 3 at over 160 mph.

Had a great time, will go back every chance we get.

For more information on the race here is the link of Matt's article.

By the way, we were there with the NASCAR Camping Series East and West Cars *(former Busch east and west) and we were going faster then them by almost 10 mph average....... stirthepot.gif

The pole for the East series was 23.5 Late Models 23.2 not 10 Mph The East cars weigh 3300 + Driver so about 3500 the Late Models are I think 2700 with driver Thats 800 pounds The late Models should be Alot faster, the HP difference is about 150 I agree that Iowa is a great track Ive been there alot Testing With RWR, Rusty is a partner in it and had a great deal to do with the design

Your right Bruce NOT EVEN CLOSE ASA and NASCAR is very different cars . ASA is like driving a Vette compared to a Truck . Both offer great racing I bet if you switch drivers The NASCAR Driver would think they are in a Rocket and ASA Driver would think they are in a Street Stock .

Just My Opinion Motodad

OK Seriously, I dont know who you are but you are the biggest name dropper I have ever seen. So what if a crate motor car was faster than a Busch car. Does that in some way diminish the prestige you feel like you deserve?

Sorry but most of your posts are arrogant and seem to intend to belittle us little people.

Sean Murphy had fast time with a 23.178 which is 135.905 mph.

?????????? Obviously you don't know me, I am NOT ashamed to work for Rusty Wallace and be associated with people in Nascar, I just try to clear up statements that I know to be wrong, If you think that is arrogant then you need to get out more

Ok well I guess I need to appologize. I was no way bashing The East / West Series...I know all of that yes the cars are different, I was just trying to put into perspective how fast these cars can get going on a larger track....I would love to drive a Camping world series/arca/nationwide/ cup car....sorry for stirring the pot.

No appology needed, Unlike what some people think the Busch/Cup cars drive like Sh*t, ask anyone who drives them Late Models are like go carts to them, we ran the whole Busch East season last year, it was fun and very competetive I made alot of friends, but I wont name them that ould be " name dropping"....Bruce

Bruce, please!!!

Don't change a damn thing, we want you telling us all the happenings down there. Don't let some 10 post wonder make you feel like you have done or said anything "arrogant". The members here love to hear your thoughts and know the lastest at Rusty Wallace Racing.

Probably about time we got you on Race Talk again for an update.

Thanks for all you do here at the club Bruce, it IS very much appreciated!!!!
