Here’s a link to my first in car camera test. The mud not only made for some very slick spots, it didn’t do any good for the camera either. After enough got built up on the shield the focus shifted to the mud instead of the camera. I plan to add a roll off device to the shield that I can pull during caution and maybe play with the manual focus to see if it will look ok at a fixed setting and not switch over to the mud. The camera also has a higher resolution I am going to try. It should be a better picture, as long as I don't run out of memory. Also the camera records in wide screen format, but the play back is not unless I pay it with the editing software. Not sure why, but maybe I can figure it out when I get more time.

Rick... you can eliminate the mud by placing the camera higher in the cage and aiming it down to the hood. I like using the passenger side corner post, positioning it as high as you can get. Fix it so it just peeks out below the roof.
Nice job recovering from the 360 spin btw.

What kind of camera would I want to use to do an in car cam in my mod. And do you strap it in or are there mounts.
Almost ready for the season and would like to tape as many races as possible.

I used a Panasonic S10P1. I had to make a mount for it. It had a single tri pod mount on the front, but I didn’t trust it. I will try and get a picture of the mount I made and post it, but it won’t be until this weekend.
