I don't yet have the results from the Michigan Traditional Sprints but they put on a good show. Our own Gavin Hunyady was a participant in that event and called me a bit ago to say he had a blast.

I shoulda went dirt racing a long long time ago. Man that was fun, even when the track slicked off. I'll be back next week with the wing.

Greg Dalman won the MTS feature. http://www.tjslideways.com/modules.php?nam...le&sid=3037

I haven't been to a dirt race in over twenty years, But we loaded the van up Sun. and headed out. It is 70 some odd miles straight down M-57 to CMS from my house, and we had a BLAST. The Late Models are AWESOME!!!!!. Great car counts, nice people, an announcer that talks ALOT. (his side kick almost pissed off all the winners HA-HA) It "almost" makes me want to try dirt.. If it was closer I would. If anyone reading this hasn't been there......GO. I paid twelve bucks and saw more races than I can count (granted I can't count that high) Every race was great. Roger does a great job!!! The track crew is an example for other tracks to follow.......I was Impresed to say the least.

That said what is the deal with the leader getting to start by himself, with everyone else stacked up. I figured it was a Dirt thing, Ashphalt guys like me wouldn't understand biggrin.gif

Thank you CMS for a GREAT night of racing and entertainment!!!!!!The seven of us had a Wonderful time

Double file restarts

Sometimes it's beatdeadhorse5.gif

OR

Sometimes it's 3gears.gif

LOL

The "Delaware" double file restarts keep the track with multiple racing grooves and have made for much improved racibility all night long. The other nice thing is if you are 19th in a 20 car one lane train, the leader is in turn two before you take the green. The double file restarts keep the racing intense.

MTS Season Opener to Dalman

Gregg Dalman got around early leader Steve Irwin and drove to victory Sunday night in MTS series action at Crystal Motor Speedway. Dalman And Irwin were followed by Ryan Grubaugh, Joe Irwin and Mike Galadja.

Starting on the pole, Steve Irwin jumped out to the lead at the drop of the green and had what looked like a win at hand but 5th place starter Dalman would have none of it as he quickly began reeling in Irwin.

On the 6th lap Dalman pulled even and passed for the lead that he wouldn't give up and went on to capture the 20 lap feature as 2nd place finisher Irwin could not close the gap. Ryan Grubaugh, Joe Irwin and Mike Galadja rounded out the top five.

Steve Irwin, Joe Irwin and Gregg Dalman won heats.

During the 2nd heat race, the #33 of Bill Johnson and 1E of Jerry Evilsizer tangled in turn three and both cars flipped. The drivers were ininjured.

I figure that if I talk ALOT, then I am bound to get something right!!!! Trust me, I was NOT on my A-game on Sunday. I felt like I was dragging hind-end all night!!
We are glad that you had a fun time. It was a Great weekend of racing! We hope to see you guys again. Next time, be sure to stop up at the tower and say "hello"!
