I HAVE to apologize to the MTS. They had a great feature event. I had a terrible time trying to announce their feature. I started to lose track of the top five and then, I couldn't see the numbers to be able to get the names correct to begin with!! I greatly apologize for the sub-par performance that I did for you drivers that put on a hell of a show!

shut up roger, great job as always... or at least the family said so.
BTW I was told I have to kick you in the nuts next week, so hopefully we'll get a chance to chat before I get in the car this time.

I gotta see that one.
Tim, me and are other crew guy Tim's brother in-law sat in the stands. Kinda felt good to sit back and not have to do a bunch of running around.
I had the stop watch on Kevin Nelson Jr and Justin McNeil during the feature and it was in the mid to low 15's at times.

Hey Roger did join the elite group to get the pronounciation of Hunyady correct on the first try. I commend him for that. Puts you in a group of about 4. Interestingly enough, all 4 are members here.

Mr Steinberg,
You know it's funny, Hunyady is Hungarian for "bite me sucker", a lot of people don't know that.
Go back to the pavement forum tarbaby.

Dirt is awesome!! That was a ton of fun, amazing how much different the track is, I mean I knew it would go dry and get slick, but holy crap! I had no idea it changed that much. I turned 1800 more RPM in the hot laps then I did in the feature. I prolly should have changed gears. Friggin' cool!
Thanks to the Crystal for having the sprint cars there!

Real announcers go to the pits and meet the drivers and get their info before the races.

Ouch....yes, those real announcers try. Us crappy ones use the notes provided by a series. I thought what was given was fine. the only thing would be to have drivers and sponsers in the book. Before TJ with SOD, they always did a nice job getting a book out with the facts and such..not an easy task. I thought that what was provided with us was just fine. My problem was that I was just not used to seeing these cars and finding the numbers wasn't easy.
I assume that fed-up is talking tongue-in-cheek 'cause if it isn't, I could easily get riled up as both trevor and I work very hard to give justice to every driver out there on the track. We do a pretty dang good job considering we carry one of the largest car counts in the state and then throw in a travelling group. Of course, if you would like to work in the Tower, I would certainly welcome you to come on up and say hello! To truly know the drivers takes years of time...not just one night.
I better go before I go off...

Well, teams usually pull in about 5:30, hot laps at 6:00, and racing at 7:30. Does not really leave much time for a meet and greet, does it?
Joe, what I started doing was making copies of all profile sheets, and mailing them two weeks before the race to the track. Then the announcer would have them one week before, and could thumb through them. Some tracks required us to send PR packets anyway, so it was easy to include profile copies with a note to give to the announcer.
Amazing how many announcers never got the packets though.......
Thats what I did for a while. I also learned alot of announcers went to our website to look at profiles as well.

And in Roger's defense he did come down to the pits, he didnt catch me until I was going out for the first hotlap.
He hid from me this week though, musta been afraid of his kick in the nuts.
Most tracks in Michigan that I have been to are blessed with very good announcers, many of them are even good pronouncers. Pretty much all of the ones that are members of this board are very good.

I caught you as you were IN the car. You can't kick me with your feet on the pedals!! Only once did we have to remind TJ about how to say your last name. I ribbed him about it.
Yes, this state is VERY blessed with some great announcers. Ones that "embody" the sport and not let things go to their head. The shear fact that there are many of us that can come and fill in at any track at a moments notice says a lot for this group.
I appreciate "constructive" criticism and not ignorant statements made with haste or spitefullness. I think that ANY announcer would take offense to the comment from fed-up.
Gavin, I hope that you enjoyed the show Saturday. I thought it was a great one. Good luck with the learning curve. I am sure that the next time you are at Crystal, you will have a better feel for the car! It was a tough field Saturday night. Then again, SOD always has a tough field at every track it is at.

Technically, I caught you.
Pfft... TJ had to ask AGAIN!?! Man...

You guys are great, if it stays this fun all season I'm not sure I can contain myself.

It felt like the first race of the season on Saturday for some reason. I was a bit rusty with the layoff and let the nerves get to me a bit. I'm just glad in my mind your sprint car really does exist and finally made it onto the track. However, I haven't laughed as hard as I did in the tower as I did Saturday with Roger and Trevor. We were all full of it (Dixon-Patrick! Dixon-Patrick).

I'm just pullin' yer chain... Sounded smooth as ever to me TJ. You are in a very elite group now: Roger Williams, Roger Miracle, Big Ed, Hollywood Matt, and now you. 5 guys that got it right the first time... you might have gotten a little more help though.
See you saturday, hopefully the car stays real for the rest of the season (or at least for the races I have planned).

Well now the Owosso folks can give out a resounding SHUT UP ROGER there now too!!!
The man pronounces YOUR last name correctly, and you call him ROGER??? I'm not sure which one should be offended, or flattered!!!!
Poor Rick, no respect dude!!!!

Now wait a minute.... two guys with a pretty cool first name and then you have guys that need adjectives to describe themselves LMAO! Now you add another one that doesn't even use his real last name (and was surprised that I said it right).
Rick is close enough to Roger!! I thought how cool it was that Rick changed his name over to mine!!

We did have fun in the tower last week. Especially when I thought the name of the racing seat company was "Butfull" and not "butler". I still think that Butfull is a much better name for a racing seat manufacturer!
Nothing beats getting an annoucer to laugh as he /she tries to get through a line-up!
