I would like to ask if the moderators might start warning or removing users instead of locking threads. Sometimes constructive things can come out of a thread that you guys jump all over. No one else on that thread said anything way way out of line except one user. He should be locked not the thread. Yes Duane is angry "clearly", but to lock the thread is going too far. Please consider other options first.

Another thread I was involved with was locked last week and if had been unlocked for about fifteen minutes everyone on this site might have seen a positive resolution. This is a better place for us to have a fight amongst racers than at the track. Let these forums be useful. Sure keep the cussing off if thats what you want, but us users will fight (with words not fist) once in a while. Do you lock your children up when they argue? No you help them work it out. Jeeez it bugs me when you guys do this. You know I like you guys and MSTRC, but c'mon.

Check out this
cyberbullying article which is about some legislation that is currently being worked on and may very well become federal law.
The proposed federal law would make it illegal to use electronic means to "coerce, intimidate, harass or cause other substantial emotional distress."Digital fighting may soon become a crime punishable by prison!

I dont think this type of thread is threatening. What Im saying, is not that its ok to call names etc., but we can argue more constructivly here than we can at the track or in the heat of the moment. I've argued with plenty of people here on MSTRC, and in almost every case hearing why or what people are angry about it has been resolved. Anyone can threaten someone online, and that is just chicken Shoot, but you can also point out why you are angy and then debate it, but in the last case the thread was locked b4 resolution was completed. That user and I got together and everything is fine now. All im saying is i would like for the hair trigger to be slowed a little. At least go after the user not the thread if there's a problem. JMO Im sure they are going to do what they want I just wanted to voice my thoughts on it.

I see the "AC tonight?" thread is locked again. I have to say, I'm actually happy about this, it was getting out of hand. Although, I just missed being able to post by a few minutes. I wish I would have been able to add that it appears that Duane is cooled off & Aaron (Aaron Spearling.......this is how his name is spelled!!

) never had a problem with what happened. I think both drivers are under self control & I'm hoping for some good, clean racing on saturday. See ya at the track!

Well,let me weigh in.
ABSOLUTLEY NO GOOD comes from threads that include threats or hints of threats to other drivers on the track or off! I went back and read some of the posts and I also see why some drivers are hanging it up as well as fans not going, besides the crappy economy. Threads with civility are great but just so everyone knows,I back any of my moderators decisions to lock a thread, especially if it contains the crap I saw in the last one. Any more like that and posters will be warned or eventually shown the door,if they don't stop and think before they post.
Sometimes this club is a blessing and then there are moments when it is a curse. I tend to hope and pray it stays positive.

the bad thing is that both drivers are over it and ready to go racing and others (some I know who they are and others that hide behind a screen name) want to keep it going.

I just read that whole thread and I gotta say............it's ALL crap. I think not only should it be locked but it should be taken down and locked away for safe keeping. I wouldn't want anyone to even read it.
I'm not saying I'm an angel on the track and that I've never doled out on track "justice" but, that situation has gotten so heated that it's left bad tastes in many peoples mouths for both drivers. You even have drivers that have NO stake in that incident threatening to "take out" the guy.
I've got to agree with everyones point that this is just one of the reasons racers are hangin it up and selling their stuff. Who wants to see this stuff go on every week?
When you dump a guy you never do think about the repercussions until it's to late. If you dump another driver and they get injured......you will be the sole reason that person misses work and can't provide for his family, you will be the reason he gets seriously injured and has major medical bills, you will be the reason he's dead(God forbid). Can you live with those scenarios? Grow up...........using 3,000 lb race cars to settle things is plain stupid. And to think........it all started in a HEAT race....a HEAT race for God sake, c'mon!!!!!!!

Hey its locked and thats that. Aron my name is Chad Decker. Although I meant you no ill will I think what happened was way out of line. I may be bias because
Duane is my friend, but i had a simaler situation that got resolved with another driver by the post we had on here. Good luck to you and Duane this weekend I hope you dont have any problems. Looks like Duane is over it and your right that is where it should have ended. I just have a problem when people get on and act like they are better than you or that they never post negatively. My thought was if Duane heard you say something about the wreck he might see your point. Looks like he did.
