I have seen the great side of racing the kindness, the friendships, the fun, and all of the many things you can think of that make this sport the greatest of all sports. That being said, people who I know to be intelligent, kind people, acted like complete asses last night. This is the reason people quit racing. It started on the track with thoughtless driving and retaliation, and ended in the pits with aduts acting like children. I dont want to sound arrogant, but I was physically upset with the behavior of just about everybody last night. You all need to look in the mirror and think about why you are racers and what it means to be a racer. I hope you will all reflect on the way things went down last night and realize that NOBODY wants things to be like this at the track. I know things were stressfull and difficult in a very important points night, but you all took what was otherwise a great night for me and pissed all over it. You were acting like children. I apologize to anyone who takes offense to this post, but if you do your probably one of the individuals who were completely out of control at AC last night. I hope tonight we can have fun without all of this BS. I will find somewhere else to race before I deal with this kind of crap nightly.

One last issue I will get off my chest, is about my dad. It was insinuated by the ower of the track last nigt, that the reason my dad is no longer teching at AC is because it was his opinion the spring spacers should be OK. Well his opinion is that sping spacer should be legal as it is less expensive for drivers to buy a 42 dollar spring throw it in thier car and race, than it is to buy 20 junk yard springs, go get them all rated and use two of them. The reason my dad is not teching at AC is because he was not allowed to tech the cars without interferrence from the race director or owner of the speedway, and because he felt too worn down to do everything that needed to be done. (and because his pay was cut twice in three weeks.) My dad is an honorable man and this was extremely offensive that this was said about him. To question his honor with a bald face lie is just out of line. So to those of you involved with that situation I apologize, and he does too. His plan was to leave springs alone and crack down on motors and other issues that were costing racers alot of money. (even stuff that I wanted to do in the grey areas were iksnayed by him.) It looks like rain tonight maybe we can all cool off and sort out the issues of the last week. We should all be friends who genuinely care about each other and somewhere we lost this concept.

Lonnie I gotta say even though my gear was wrong and I couldnt race I thought Owosso has such a different feel. You really feel laid back there. They could not have asked for a better on the track night than they got. The racing was awsome no joke flat awsome. Very little bumping (how f'ing refreshing is that?). Plenty of room to pass, and owners who give you thier personal numbers for any issue you might have. No vendictive situations. The officials tech every class not one. I loved it. Jeff and Rick and thier wives could not have had a better 1st night. Wow it was really nice. I will still run AC but on Fridays now and Sat will be at the Big O. Nice job to everyone there it was big fun. Oh Lonnie its not the tech guy its a little above that isnt it, and ohhhhhh your going to have to pull your motor next week! I've never finished in a tech spot., but I even said to John last week its crazy what is happening for 100 bucks to win. I really hope our guys figure it out soon. Yeah LJ you'll have fun. I dont want to start bad mouthing anyone but, man teching one car is just not right. If your going to tech one you tech em all. Last night they teched the top three at Owosso and the items that were wrong they got whats called a fix it ticket. Next week the items found wrong must be fixed. That is a great way to do it. Instead of waiting until you've won the race and doing what amounts to picking on one car. I guess there is no great answer, but fair is fair. You've got to tech everyone the same. Lonnie you know you'll be back at AC next week and I dont blame you your racing for a champoinship. I know if they would have teched the top 5 the same way you would not have been the only one found to be outside of the rules. Well I'd like to see you guy there, but Im not counting on it. I'll still run AC on Fridays I love that track, but I have always wanted to race Owosso and I feel like they finally have an ownership that will keep thier word to the drivers fans and staff. My dad is teching there and seems really happy with the wat Jeff and Rick are doing things. Your .256 will be fine there, but you'll pick up quite a few RPM's with the 2.5" exhaust. Probably about 6500. Rich what did Casey run for RPMs last night I thought he said 63-6400 with the 2" still on it. I didnt even race help Casey a bit, and I had lots of fun. Casey and Tony both ran great races. It was cool to see Tom Stone, Mark Welch, Bill Luckhrst, and all the people I watched for so long out there. I will be back fo shizzle!
PS Joe H if you read this they had more mods there than they did at the city Thursday! Dick and Billy put on a show Laci was there for a few, but those boys were haulin the mail.

According to Auto City Speedway (race director and tech guys), the M-15 car/driver/owner was told on Thursday that the heads will be pulled on there car on Saturday. The track did this so they could run without problems on Saturday. And what was found: 400 C.I., $600 dollar set of pistons (non-OEM), and H beam rods, also non-OEM parts. You got caught, be a man and move on. You are lucky they did not enforce A/C general regulations rule, section 12, article 1L that states" Auto City Speedway reserves the right to CONFISCATE any part and/or equipment illegally used or found during an inspection. Refusal of driver or car owner to turn over illegal parts to Auto City Speedway officials may resault in suspension and loss of ALL points from the beginning of the season"
No hard feelings here LJ, just stating the rest of the story.

The problem would be they didn't check all the top cars, just singled out one, again. Who won Thursday?? Not LJ. Why not tell that person they need to pull there head???? Get the story straight. LOL it's a 406, pistons didn't cost $600 bucks. and were dished by the way. Correct compresion ratio. The rods, well ya gotem on that one. I am sure they where the whole reason the car was so fast. But as you said wrong is wrong, cant argue that, it's the singled out that kinda sucks, i guess thats racing. No offence intended, just my 2 cents.

most of the time if they single you out its because someone is constantly complaining to the tech guys i dont know why more of you guys dont run owosso 3/8 mile versus 1/4 mile its alot faster and alot less bs more side by side more passing
nate
Jul 6 2008, 11:31 PM
or it could be because lonnie is always 1st or second..could be the reason why they single him out....ok so they found h rods...that dont make it that fast...could be lonnie has the right gear...the right set up...hell maybe because he can drive the car great...dont that all go with being fast...they did the same stuff to tim near when he kept winning....they where just bound and detrimed to find something wrong...get them next week lonnie

rules are rules, they are made for a reason. Everyone tries to break them or does. But when you get caught, don't bitch, take your licks and get back to it. Its that easy. I don't pretend to know whats going on as far as the teching up that way. But it's fair to say its the same way most places.

Nobody is complaining about being DQ'd. I talked to Lonnie last night he has no problem with the dq. He has a problem with the fact that the top 5 were teched but he was the only one who had to pull his heads. I agree with him. That is not the fair way to do it. I also have an issue with them telling everyone who would listen what he had in his car. Illegal pistons and rods is all that needs to be said. Period! The fact that everyone knows what parts they were is pretty shady if you ask me. Oh well thats how it goes. I hope they dont lose a bunch of cars teching lower ends. I know LJ is considering going else where to race. I really think he should stick it out and try to win a championship, but if he does come to Owosso I will be happy to race against him.

MR Vids it was not my intent to make any issue personal. I was reffering to the proffesionalism not Steve as a person. I dont know him at all and have no reason to think hes not a nice guy. Its his proffesionalism I was calling into question. It is never a good idea for an official to get on here and talk down to a driver. That driver was DQ'd we all know it, and that is rubbing salt in the wound. The fact is that Lonnie knows why he was diqualified and does not question it. The right call was made I think he just felt like the top 5 should have all been checked. (at that time I didnt know that he didnt whistle, and thats why I agreed.) AC made the right call tearing him down if he didnt whistle. Steve you can PM me if you like or call me. Either way we should talk.

Why did you tell my team that next time I need any decals for my car that I need to come over myself and put them together because I have gone through three sets so far this year and its an inconvinience to you, I thought you took on that job along with many others this year. So sorry if its a bother for you to go in your trailer and grab a decal package but next time if you have a problem with me please come tell me not my team, I would always talk to you if I had a problem and not your team! Lonnie I dont care if you have a big motor all I know is your a hell of a good drive and keep up the good work.

This is why I retracted my posts I was not trying to salt the wound and the way i had taken it when I read this was that I was being bashed for DQing Lonnie, like I was the one who built and installed the engine this is why I never get on here how things come out when typing are never the way you meant it to come accross

No I dont think the problem ever was with the DQ itself. I talked to Lonnie for a long time about this and my advice to him was to stay at AC. He was only mad because he feels he has been singled out, and Steve it kinda looks that way. I dont think it is true, (at least I hope not) but it does look like it. When he qualified the track record no one else had to pull there springs. He did. I think you should do the same tech to every car. At least the same to every car that is in the tech barn. I like all the tech guys there, and my complaint is not personal Steve at least you guys are getting the job done. The problem is in the middle of the season you guys are on an all out offensive, and that is a risky play. You might lose some cars. No one has ever teched the lower ends so you know they are all not legal. Lonnie has enough money to put a really good (legal) motor together Id doubt you have too many other guys who can. What will they do if found to be illegal? I have a pretty good idea, and so do you.
