I heard this same rumor over the weekend at Dixie...

If anything I hope it happens, its a win/win for everyone, but I think we should wait till its confirmed, and done before we can speculate.

No kidding. I wonder if AC would drop their Friday night program?

Do they want to keep Sat. and add Friday, or do they want to go back to just Friday?

They had better get it together theres a new kid on the block and they look like they are going to take care of business. I think when the deal is done Im going to give Owosso a shot as long as Jeff is involved and the pay is what they are saying Ill give them a try.

I've been on this web for some time and Jeff is a straight shooter in my Opinion.
I know on my off weekends I will go there!
The last thread that spoke about Auto City and all the compliments from others who participate on this web made me feel proud and appreciated as I contribute to the overall night of racing. Like Larry Loins says We race mostly for the applause.!!

i saw this comming a mile away. dixie on fridays. as for owosso...guaranteed contender with the new owners. we will make the trek down a few weekends with the sled. maybe with the factory too.

anybody hear about a promoters meeting last week?

Mike told a friend of mine at spartan last friday night that the promoters put the heat on him to go back to Fridays.

looks like owosso is putting the heat on too.

Might have heard something along those lines, but not quite that way.

Is it going to matter.........Will the economy suddenly turn around......I think the car counts will stay about the same as will the crowds. The racers will be able to watch again. The car counts in the Fig-8's will go up. maybe a couple of LS or FS will run back to back. I guess we'll all just wait and see

I think most would agree with that assessment. If he were going to switch you would have thought he would have thought it through and made a better plan to draw cars and fans. More pay lower prices for a couple of years kinda thing. Joe you coming to the radio show tonight? Its at Billys!!!!!!!!

Is the fan count up or down? by how much?

Is the car counts Up or down? in which divisions? and by how much?

Fan count and car counts are down at both tracks. There are probably about 6-10 cars that raced both nights, maybe more. Moving to Sat definitely hurt both tracks. I wish there were some way to get more people involved in racing that is truly what needs to happen to keep the sport healthy.

Fan count is down about 30%- 35% from last year. (This is just my guess)

The Car count might be down a little from last year, but both tracks are down on car count.

If I recall, Mike wanted to go to Sat. because track sponsors and local business people wanted him to. Mike now wants to go to Fri. because other promotors want him to? If this was the case, this means he is bailing out on somebody or, there was no backers that wanted him to go to Sat. in the first place!Mike doesn't do anything he doesn't want to do! Maybe Mike should eat some Crow and coordinate some rules with AC, and things could work out when he goes back to Fridays.

The rules are the same in all of the classes except Late Models. I think the class that would gain the most from this would be the figure 8 cars. If there was two tracks to race at each weekend, more guys might build cars for it. Heres hoping for 20 car figure 8 races each week.

I havent raced on a Friday night whats was the plan in the past I work in Grand Rapids and really like going to Dixie but if they switch to Fridays then I will have to take both our Sleds over to AC or Owaso I am really happy out thier and I like Kerns so far and I am just now starting to get to know some people out thier. Dose anyone have the information of what they might be looking at for start times for the night. I am thinking that if they do that I might even convert a car over to a dirt tracker and try my luck over their at crystal. I usually get back in town around 6 so any help would be great

If they do go back to fridays I wont boycott anymore.... Ill just go on fridays there and Saturdays on AC. Hopfully AC will take there fridays and move that to sundays that will give all 3 days of racing, now wouldnt that be cool

Its a good Idea but kerns should wait until next year, most people race somewhere else on fridays now and to switch halfway through the season is pretty messed up

friday, saturday, makes no difference to me,
just dont do it in the middle of the year.
add some friday shows if your hurting for money
dont make it look like your freaking out
settle down and take care of thing that matter,
like getting a flagman

The rules are not the same.......Dixie allows things in our class that AC doesn't, LS have that two barrel on 400's thing, and Mods have more stuff at AC. It is possible to be legal for both tracks, but the rules aren't quite the same. Are you racin Sat.

Yeah we'll be out there this week. I really wanted to be out there last time, but I was at one of my friends weddings. That is one thing I definantly miss about racing on Fridays.

What stuff do mods have more at A/C than Dixe?

I don't think that stops anyone from going to A/C or Dixe.

I saw this coming from over here. Kern went to Saturdays out of spite over that figure 8 track. I talked to my buddy that is a casual Friday Dixie a month ago and he was nothing but ticked off about trying the move to Saturday nights. I was never a supporter of the decision either because that left no place to go to the races on fridays close to home when I was on leave. and for you guys and gals back home man what a bear that must have been. There is no reason to wait till next year move back to Fridays Now.

Yes Larry did. It is supposed to happen on the 11th according to Larry Loins, and Im not sure, but I think he may be working there again.

Norm I really dont know I talked to Joe briefly last night, but never approached that topic.

Nothing is OFFICIAL as far as I know. Larry has heard this, but it has not been officially released.

As far as Larry going back to Dixie, NOTHING has been mentioned, and Larry does not, and is not going to interfere with Terry and what he and Mike have worked out. Plus, Larry would not be available for every Friday, with Auto City still running on some Friday's.

Plus, Auto City has not changed their 2008 schedule and I don't think they will. I mean, why should they?? They didn't make this big move to another night, and only started racing on some Fridays, when that became available. Joe has no reason to change his 2008 plan, even if Dixie is going to.

Yeah I know it is not official, but I dont think Larry would say it if there weren't any truth to it. He was intending on talking about it last night on the show, but the show was filled to the brim with content last night. Yeah I dont think Joe should change the schedule either. If he and Mike work something out than well see, but he certainly has no obligation to Mike or Dixies success. I really hope for the best because we are racers and healthy tracks mean we got a place to do our thing. I might run Dixie if I can come up with a carb for there. Some stupid two barrell rule. Hell the thing might make me faster. You never know.

If they work anything out, I would say go to every other week on Saturdays, double the fans, double the cars, half the power bills, half the employee salary, double the purse? Just a thought. I know everyone wants to race more often, but sooner or later we are all going to have to work together to make this more profitable for the tracks, and less of a loss for the racers. (just my opinion)

Oh, I wouldn't do it as a favor, but if they lose much of their already thin Friday crowd, they will be running at a loss.
