I was wondering if any Four Cylinder Drivers from Owosso from 2003 or 2004 have the old rules lying around? If you do, please PM me. Thanks!

2004 Four-Cylinders

This class will have a five race "mini-series in 2004 with those date as follows: 5/22, 7/03, 8/07, 9/04, and 9/18. We will be covering basic rules from your home track. If you are legal at your home track you are legal here with these exceptions:

A. CAR/TRUCK NUMBERS:

a) OWS will assign car/truck numbers by registration on a first come/first serve basis. OWS will assign a requested car number when possible. OWS reserves the right to change numbers at any time to avoid scoring problems. Any driver who requests a number already taken has their choice of affixing the letter of their first or last name or an X next to their numbers. (Example: 24B, B24, 24X, or X24 are all acceptable) Three-digit numbers are permitted. (Example: 113, 116, 222, etc.) A letter may NOT be affixed to a three-digit number. If said three-digit number is already registered, you must choose another number subject to OWS approval. No numbers higher than 999 will be allowed under any circumstances. b) The numbers may go in the following areas: 1. Between the wheels or on rear quarter panel. 2. On the side and on the roof, so it can be read from the outside of the track. c) Must appear on both doors 18" high with a minimum 3" stroke. They may also appear on the rear quarter panels using same measurements. Driver�s name will appear over both doors or the lower most portion of both driver and passenger doors (ASA style). Car # must appear on upper right hand corner of windshield as well as back bumper panel. 6" stroke min. For more information on Car numbers, see Section 1 of this rulebook.

B. TIRES:

a) Any D.O.T. steel belted radial treaded tire eight ( 8 ) inches maximum. No made for racing tires ( Hoosier, American Racer, etc.). A gauge measuring 8.00 inches will be used to check the tread width and it must fit loosely over the tread. No soaking of tires allowed.

C. SAFETY:

a) Approved driver�s side window net with quick-release mechanism attached to roll cage is mandatory. Driver must be able to enter or exit out both doors through window openings. Must be able to see through rear window. All helmets must have a Snell 95 or 00 rating. A face shield is mandatory. Fire-resistant drivers suits mandatory and full coverage fire-resistant underwear highly recommended. Fire-resistant full coverage gloves are also mandatory. Only SFI-rated 3�wide, 4, 5, or 6 point safety harness less than 3 years old will be allowed. Safety harness must be properly mounted per the manufacturer recommendations! Only aluminum racing seats allowed and must be properly mounted to the cage. A safety neck brace (horse collar) is mandatory. Head and neck restraints strongly recommended. A min. five (5) lbs. fire extinguisher securely fastened within easy reach of the driver is mandatory. No car/truck will be allowed to race without any of the proper, mandatory, safety equipment. All other required safety equipment and specifications are addressed in Section 3 of this OWS rule book.

D. WEIGHT:

a) 2350 lbs. for cars/trucks with front wheel drive. b) 2450 lbs. for cars/trucks with rear wheel drive c) Both weights will be the minimum before qualifying and after the feature with the driver. No exceptions and no tolerance!

E. MISCELLANEOUS:

Other than the above mentioned rules and regulations, If you are legal at your track, you are legal here, bring your rule book! You will not be allowed to run if you don't have your home track rule book!

Points Fund, Purse for each race, and designated laps, for the series will be posted at a later date. Top 10 in season ending five-race series points will be invited to the 2004 Owosso Speedway awards banquet.
