The Show Will Go On July 3^rd!



When weather stole a night of racing on June 28^th, it also created an awesome show. Come One, Come All! Merritt Speedway presents “The Night of Destruction”. All will be thrilled, from the “hardcore” circle track fans to the family looking for a “fun night” out, this show promises to excite. Returning on July 3^rd will be the Soaring Eagle Winged Outlaw Late Models, these winged gladiators will take to the speedway at 6:30 PM for time trials creating a shock and awe atmosphere. Other great events will be a fiery show by one of the longest running and best known jet cars, the Green Mamba, as it turns and burn around the track. Excitement will continue with chain races and school bus races sponsored by Superior Metal Recyclers. Enjoy a hot dog and cold drink or maybe some bread sticks from the award winning consection stand, also grab a tee shirt to show everyone you have traveled to “the home of Michigan’s fastest dirt track, Merritt Speedway.

Gates open at 4:00 PM, Time Trials at 6:00 PM and “The Big Show” starts at 7:30 PM, visit www.merritt-speedway.com and make plans for a night to remember.

Well Dave Hilliker did not disappoint taking the quick time, heat race, and the feature .Dona Marcoullier took the non winged feature I do belive the heat also. There was 15 outlaws and about 10 non winged cars. It was a good night weather was good races had a lot of different things including flagpole races, push races, chain races, and school bus races. I did think the $15 gate admission was high and the food prices were also high but it was a fun night out anyways. I enjoyed seeing the 04 of witherspoon with the wing on and he was setting a fast pace in his heat race and had a good lead when something went wrong with the car and he finished I think third.
