I went to The Late Model Jones last night and it was disappointing. They only had 25 cars for a $10,000 to win show. Only 24 started the fetaure. I've been to the first two and they had very good car counts. The crowd was lighter this year then last year as well. I see that some of the Berlin guys were at AC and thought they would be at M-40. I wonder where Freddie Campbell, Tom Thomas, Steve Needles and Terry Senneker were. I now know where JVD was. The race was ok, not as good as the previous two years. Doug True won, he started on the pole. He was passed by Rick Sexton, who pinned him behind a lapped car. Around lap 44 Sexton got into a lapped car and the lapped car spun, WHY DOESN'T M-40 USE THE MOVE OVER FLAG, Sexton was sent to the rear giving True the lead back. It was a one groove track, only Andy and Phil Bozell ran up top a lot. Jeff Ganus passed some cars as did Jeff Vochaska but other then that it was one groove. I thought the night was poorly run as well. I heard comments in the stands as to the same thing. There was no reason to get out of the track after 11:00, I didn't stay for the fireworks, when they only had pure stocks and late models. The people down there are very nice, but if the shows move along like they did last night then you can see why they are struggling.
I can only remember the first four -
Doug True
Jeff Vochaska
Andy Bozell
Phil Bozell

Simmer down, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just as YOU are.
You state that your close friends with the owners, doesn't that make you slightly biased??
I will put a lot of merit into Keith's opinion. He has seen thousands and thousands of races. I don't really think he was trying to "dis" M-40, he was just stating HIS opinion.

Didn't get to read what was posted but if someone has something to say to me, go ahead and PM me. I got one about it and I replied to the person and we discussed it and I think he understood what I was saying and I understood what he was saying.
All I said was it was disappointing. The first two were AWESOME races. I told a lot of people how great the first two were and that they should go see that race. I would go to M-40 more often if I didn't help someone at Spartan on Fridays. The staff is VERY friendly there, at least towards me and my family.

$10K to win is always good, but what did it pay to start? I think that many drivers look at the start money since they are not likely to win, but want to at least have a shot at not losing money on the day.

I don't have the complete payout in front of me but I have since talked to some guys and was told why some didn't show up for that show. I will not discuss what was said.
