Just wanted to give a quick shout to Lonnie and Chad for their runs Sunday at Spartan. Both of you were pretty dominant. Heart goes out to Troy Shinnenbarger ?Sp That was a hard hit in the intersection. WOW! Drake had a runner before pulling off, but nice job from both of you guys. See you Friday at the city.

The Pure Stock feature was a great race.

I wish I would have been giving the opportunity to change that tire and compete for the win..

We caught them and I think we might have been able to get under them.. but it just didn't quite work out.

Last to 4th with bone stock FWD against all those hybrid Street/Lead/Pure stocks.. it was great.

Was that thing a GTP ohsnap.gif lol. It was sure fast. Had a good night even with being sent to the rear for no reason. Made an exciting rest of race for me making it back up to 3rd. Good Jon Lon on winning the Feature and coming home 2nd in the Figure 8.

congrats lonnie we had a riot running against you for the lead. we would've liked to run up front longer but spartan is a tough track when you lose power steering. still had fun. chad looks like you had a strong run finished 4th? who all is going to come down to springport for racin and rockin?

Ill be there. Dont know about LJ or Chad L. Chad mentioned he might go but he and Lonnie are in a points battle at the city so Id doubt they will make it. Lonnies M-15 towing is going to be a contingency sponsor so if they do make it cool. Love to see all the AC guys there it would be big fun.

No.. that is just a base SE provided to us by Jeff Finley at Northside Service, the motor (a 3.1L) was blown and we replaced it with a 185K mile one out of Cats Part Mart Salvage Yard in Lansing.

I would have liked to have been given the opportunity to replace my flat tire using the normally utilized 3 yellow flag laps rule, but due to some kind of miscommunication between the track officials you guys went back green before I could get back out.

What gear either overall or with 350 turbo in 1st will you run at Springport? I figure my 256 will be good, but do you think a 241 will be more the ticket.

look at it this way chad.... Dave Christensen left his AC gear in Kenny Fords car when he won the championship in it in 2005, and spun 7700-7800.

What in the world would make you think I could twist my sh!t the way Dave can his. No muscle motor here! Most I would ever want to spin mine is 65-6700. If I can.

I hope no LS can spin 7700 lol if it did and survives, it aint stock. lol. We might come down for R&R if we get the new motor back.

Chad what ever gear you run at owosso you'll be fine at springport. the two tracks are very similar.

I thought all of you did an outstanding job!!! I was thinking Spencer had y'all covered when he took the lead, the young man has done his homework, nice job on fast time Spencer!!! You did pretty darn good with no power steering.

And Patrick you definetly were the surprise of the night. You impressed me, and many others with your run. I am very sorry if we blew that, and didn't give you the curtousy 3 laps that we give everyone else. I must admit, I didn't catch that until you approached me afterwards. I can say that it was not intentional, and that our officials are human and can miss something sometimes. We are usually right on top of those situations, but it was a weird night in the tower, lots of confusion with drivers switching cars between divisions, and last minute changes, but that is no excuse. I hope you can except my
(our) apology for this miscommunication.

If nothing else, your confidence should be sky high for the next one!!!

Great job all night by all the drivers that participated. It was a GOOD show. The Figure 8 races were both outstanding. I hope Troy and Wayne are feeling ok today, and that they can get back out there next month. That was one violent hit!!!

Thanks again to all that came over and made our show as good as it was!!!!

Thanks for all the props guys! It was a great trip and we had a lot of fun. Great job to Spencer. Im not so sure i could hold him off if he would have stayed up front.

Ed, I talked to Bill afterwards.. he apologized then and I accepted and moved on. I think it was fairly innocent.. he heard broken wheel and thought it was terminal, like a broken hub.. rather it was just a broken rim and flat tire and all I needed was a tire change. I was pretty mad right after the race because I was starting to believe I had a chance.

Anyhow, it was a blast and if nothing else, showed that a little Front Wheel Drive V-6 can compete with those V8's when the rules are even and the track is small.

Too bad the next Sunday show isn't until Aug 31st.

Here is the photo sequence of the 7 pushing up out of Turn Four into the side of the 28... and the 50 going under the pair..

And then the 7 coming back down on the 50 and and running the 50 into the infield..

NickJ
im not sure what youre seeing, but clearly i wasnt pushing up, your missing the frames before those pictures where the 28 was totally sideways nearly looping it, and when i tried to turn down to avoid contacting his front nose, you were there trying to make a pass leaving me no room but to get squeezed by the both cars. dont blame me because you werent paying attention.

The 28 was loose coming out of Turn 4.. and when the 7 attempted to drive under him, got into the side of him.

Both were off the bottom of the track when I went there and the 50 had the door of the 7 before the Figure 8 exit and had the car past at the start/finish line when the 7 came back down.

I am not "blaming" anyone, I didn't say so and so did this and it was wrong; or so and so did that and it was a mistake/shouldn't have. I was asked what happen and I described it and posted the photos. If your conscious is so guilty you feel you have to be that defensive, perhaps you know something more we don't.

I had a great time, the racing was good and look forward to Aug 31st..

I know Nick was pushing like a truck but according to that particular image it looks like he held it low pretty good. There is no good reason in the world to go three wide coming off of four at Spartan. That is a recipe for crashed cars. Patricks car was waaaay down on the bottom though. I got to the side of Nick off of four all night but his momentum kept me from making it stick. Still all in all a very fun race except for the very beginning when I was a pinball, but everyone after that raced me clean as could be.
