JR is second in points, so i guess Kurt Busch is way better than JR. and Ryan Newman, and Robby Gordon huh?
BIGcheater
Jr. is to NASCAR what Anna Kournikova was to tennis, puts out and appealing appearance but has only average talent when it comes to the skill level in their respective sports. If he does manage to win a championship this year it will be long overdue for the amount of attention he gets.

im smart enough to know he aint won a championship and he aint a legend like his little fans make him out to be wait he did win a gas milage race first in two years runs up front at first then fades away same old story

I don't really care for Jr i think he is overrated, but with that said he is a hell of a driver, and second in points don't come by mistake. ohsnap.gif I like Tony and kyle they can flat out drive anything there put in.

Good god!
It is a team sport!
It takes a good driver, a good crew, great support back at the shop, perfect chemistry among all members of the team and a great deal of luck! And a great deal of money!

I bet JR didn't sleep a wink last night - up all night, chewing his fingernails, late night phone calls with his sister - "Shucks, this anonymous person on a forum that can't even use a "Shift" key on a keyboard thinks I'm over-rated sis - maybe we should just pack it in and quit!". Probably had to have Rick Hendrick talk him down off the ledge!

Sad thing is you are trying to build up Kyle by running down Dale Jr - both deserve praise for this season. It's great to see that both of them are benefitting greatly this year from the changes in scenary. Both of those drivers bring some personality to the races and you could distinguish either of them no matter what color car they hopped into - look for the car that is loose as a goose, running fast, and passing anyone he can catch - that would be Kyle. Now look for the car that is running a high line - inches from the wall - 10 laps before anyone else dares to run that line - you just found Jr. Those are givens every week - no other 2 drivers offer us that.

Other than Dale Junior, I havn't seen another driver in a long time explore so many lines with his race car when it isn't working perfectly.

Other than Kyle, I havn't seen another driver piss and moan so much when his car isn't working perfectly.

Any of the 43 drivers on the track could take a perfect car and put it up front. It's the not-so-perfect cars that (to me) reflect the talent of any given driver.

Kyle and Dale are both talented drivers. But to me, Dale is more adaptive...which is very important. Kyle's getting some good cars this year, but that won't always be the case. So when the team falls behind, that's when we'll find out what Kyle Busch really has to offer. Gibbs has the #18 TEAM on top of their game right now, but that comes and goes. Time will tell.

Maddmike,

Tryping to put a stop to this with logic is tantamount to George Kastanza trying to stop the delivery truck by putting his hand up in front of it while it was bearing down on his Frogger video game.

You are right, those who watch the races see that he does try to drive different lines at various times. Adaptive is a good way to phrase it.

Kyle is having a banner year, without a doubt. As is Jr.

have a good day,

Ok so let me get this straight, you guys can fire up 23 pages of crap about a driver you dont like but when someone speaks against your driver you call that person a RETARD, pick on their typing, skills and say that the discussion lacks logic? Is that the way you guys play here? I'm not a K.B. fan either, but the personal attacks are just stupid. But then again, I forgot, the JR NATION are the same morons that throw stuff over the fence when their driver looses! Some of you appear to be that type of fan too.

I think most of us find entertainment value in that discussion and don't take it too seriously, but there are exceptions of course...Myself, I've been forced to actually acknowledge how well he is doing this year...even though I still don't like him.

NASCAR fans are very passionate. I think all drivers have fans like that...Jr just has a LOT of fans. I'm sure that when Kyle doesn't win, all 5 of HIS fans throw stuff too... (that was a joke).

BIGcheater and BYRDRACERs,

Please take a moment and find your sense of humor. Most of us are having fun with that thread.

I honestly think that the vitriol is coming from the Kyle camp, actually.

I too, have acknowledged Kyle's accomplishments this year.

'tis others that aren't acknowledging Jr.s accomplishments at this point.

In my exploits at other racing websites, I've notice a common theme. If you say anything even remotely less than Junior is the greatest, you are suddenly overwhelmed with the wrath of Junior Nation. The only fan base where logic means very little with very few exceptions. Only that Junior is a champion no matter the results of driving duties. Never mind criticizing his crew chief.

Yet at the same time I've watched the very same viciously attack other drivers without mercy in their posts. Especially if one makes contact with Junior on a racing surface. There seems to be a different set of fan rules when concerning Dale Earnhardt, Jr. It's an amazing phenomena. It's even starting to carry over to his Nation Wide drivers.

I see less of it here, but at the NASCAR fans sites, it's overwhelming.

Perhaps it may help to know that my car is numbered 6, because I happen to very much admire and appreciate Mark Martin.

Please note I do not run 8 or 88 on my mod.

thanks guys i dont take it personal if everybody liked the same driver it would be kinda boring i was a big dale sr fan went to the first brickyard you could here them booing the whole way around the track thats what makes going to the races fun ribbing each other about their favorite driver atleast i didnt call him a idiot or have a topic dale jr idiot of the week i think hes a good driver he aint great like you said gordon won talladega jr finished 2nd people start throwing stuff i aint no gordon fan but i wouldnt stoop that low to throw stuff on the track that type of person aint really a race fan and they should be banned for life

Shinde its got nothing to do with my sense of humor, I enjoy humor, I enjoyed much of the 23 pages you guys put on about K.B. I just think those who dish it should take it and not call people RETARDS, thats not at all funny.
PFD
I think the 23 pages turned more into how many pages can we actually keep this going.

To the original post. Silver spoon you say, because of last name. No one would know who Kyle Bush is if it wasn't for his brother getting a ride. The same brother who he won't even congratulate publicly. He's full of himself and hopefully that changes. The kids got talent, but his mouth and attitude need an adjustment. Also I'd say that Junior is doing pretty well. The new points structure really doesn't reward winning every race any more. So come chase time we'll see how it goes. There a lot of good cars that are going to turn the wick up about that time.

Perry

i said silver spoon because in the kyle busch idiot of the week someone said he didnt pay his dues did jr pay his dues he went right into his daddys equipment as far as kyle he wins no matter whos cars or trucks hes driving different crewchiefs different teams jrs had tony jr how long someone said jr adapts better he looks for different lines its harder to adapt to different teams and crewchiefs and kyles won on short tracks superspeedways road courses everywhere even in brauns equimpment who else has won in brauns cars no one thats why KYLE BUSCH is a better driver as far as jr winning the cup like aerosmiths song dream on

Note that I have not said one thing on any of those 23 pages. Your whole intention with this thread is to stir the pot - I give you credit that you aren't the one crying foul over others "picking" on you - turnabout is fair game icon_smile.gif

I like the way Kyle drives and I like Jr too - the 23 pages of crap was too long winded to pick through - this one was easier with only a few comments.

With that said, I think I'll start another thread on here - listing nascar drivers I like and why. That might be kind of cool to see why people like drivers or dislike drivers. Unfortunately it'll probably end up in someone having a temper tantrum and not go anywhere, but hey I'll give it a try.

I think we all knew that all along... But why has NASCAR been so slow to react. This stuff should have been handled before the season ever started.

The "peak" HP might be 20hp more, but as was stated in the article, the useable numbers are likely greater through the rest of the powerband.

20hp doesn't seem like much at 9500rpm, but if theres 50hp more at 7000 rpm then that's what wins races.

How else to explain drivers and teams with no former success suddenly finishing up front...

Mike

For the record: I'm not a JR fan.....never have been either nor was a fan of his father but, I respect most of the drivers in the upper echelon of motorsports!

My number is 17 but I'm also not a fan of Matt Kenseth BTW!

I'm the worst of all.......I'M A JEFF GORDON FAN...........have been since he raced sprint cars on ESPN's Thursday night Thunder back in the day. How many of you KB fans remember that...NONE cause most of ya were in diapers then. Hell KB was in diapers then!

Half of the Cup fans will remember Kenseth when it's all said and done but, just about everyone will remember who Dale Earnhardt JR was!!!!!! Just look at Mark Martin.....no Daytona wins, no championships but, at the end of the day, ya'll know who he is and that he WILL be in the drivers Hall of Fame! Nuff said....I feel like I'm arguing with my 9yr old!

THE only reason anyone knows DALE JR is because of his dad it sure aint because of his greatness the only reason hes as popular as he is because unfortunatly when his dad passed away all of DALE SRs fans jumped on board

He'll be remembered for being the most well known, but overated cup driver around. Maybe he could start dating Paris Hilton so they could be the most famous couple known for doing nothing but simply by who their parents are.

Good Lord,

Were it not for bad luck, Jr. would have had this one.

He is having a very good year.

Kyle is having a "Driver's Dream Year".

It is all clicking for him right now.

Good for him.

Jr. is having one of "those" years.

Still a top notch driver. No question.

And most humble and down to earth.

Something many could learn from.
