Great job by ALL of the track personnel last night. I honestly thought it was a lost cause after the rain. But not only did they get ALL of the races in, they made the best of the rain delay by loading up a couple buses with fans to ride in while drying the track.

It was a very memorable experience for my wife and kids, and I'm sure many others feel the same. There were a lot of smiling wavers in those buses.

I too applaud our staff, that was a great effort to get that track dry. No wind at all to help, a healthy, quick, soaking rain, and every wrecker, truck, and bus out there to help dry. It ain't like the old days where you ask the drivers to help with thier cars, not at $6 a gallon!!! Everyone stepped up, and the bus rides was a great idea. Jim Leasure was even out there in the short bus, then the two-seater!!!!

But I also applaud YOU Madd Mike, and Gavin too, he's had a hand in this. Mr. Stenberg was FAST QUALIFIER last night, solidly. Then backed it up with a Top 5 finish in the feature!!! I've watched that car for many years, I've watched you break your back, and I've watched you have to struggle and fight hard to get back to this spot, and it was very cool to see you run like that Mike. I think it may just be the start of some good things to come to you.

And you deserve it, way to go Mike!!!

Thanks a lot Ed. It felt really good to do that. It's the first time I ever set fast time with that car...Even in 2003 when the car was new and I won 3 features at Owosso.

We really needed that confidence booster. Heck, it was the first race at Spartan I even finished this year...And we've sent Gavin out too many times with the car not right (including a junk tire that we had on the car for 3 weeks)

Admittedly, there's more learning to do at that track for the driver. I may or may not have finished higher position-wise, but I wasted many laps over-driving the corners. When I settled down a bit at the end, I was able to catch right back up.

Remember, the car isn't that old... I've just put it through a lot of torture... (as the body shows...It's the same body and even the front bumper...from when I nearly totaled it 4 years ago and let it sit).

We had a lot of fun!!! And we weren't involved in any crazy drama... So it was a total success.

Next race- R&R next Saturday. Looking forward to more FUN!!!

I think the vast improvement in QF time is 50% putting that junk tire in the trailer and 50% driver change. I realized Saturday that I'm carrying a LOT of bad habits from the sprint into the mod, and vise versa. Mainly in the mod, driving in WAY too hard. I think I was the fastest at Spartan the first time I drove it there... in practice, on junk tires.

I thought you did a hell of a job Friday, and we did need the boost! Nice work brother! The text was awesome too.

No on-track bus experience is complete until youve ridden in the ROTW little blue bus, at speed, on a racetrack.
