I've been asked by a few folks from the Eastside the best way to get there, so I thought I'd just share my route with everyone. This is the fastest, closest way that I have found.

Take 69 West to Lansing, stay on it all the way around Lansing (it turns into 69 South instead of West) as it runs with 96, follow 69 (Ft.Wayne) until you get to Exit #66, Potterville, and exit here. This is Hartel Road. You will want to turn left (South), BUT...if you need to use the restroom, or get some food, or fill your cooler (ice), this will be the last place to do any of these things. You are approximently 18 miles from the track, and there are no other stores, or food places along the route. Heading South on Hartel, you will go about 5 miles and Hartel will end at Island Highway. Turn left (East). Go ONE mile to Royston Road, turn Right (South). THE RACE TRACK IS ON THIS ROAD!!! You will go through 4 stop signs, and just over 8 miles of asphalt, then it will turn to gravel for about 3 miles, then you will see Springport Motor Speedway on your right. First driveway is the pit entrance, and the second one is the grandstand entrance.

Any questions, just ask here!!!

Just curious Ed, is this faster then say going 69 to 127 south to 96 east to M-99 and down through Eaton Rapids to Bellvue Hwy to Springport Rd to that little dirt road? lol I don't think I even know the name of it but I just know that the road curves and you go straight on the little dirt road. Then that T's into Royston rd.

I know from Dewitt this is how I have always gone. But if your way is faster then I will have to giver a shot in September.

I established driving directions from just about any location surrounding the track last year at the start of the season and I see that they are still posted on the Springport website. Both Ed's way and the route down M-99 are listed in the "From Lansing" description. You can find both ways here:

http://springportmotorspeedway.com/Info/sm...ons.php#lansing

There is also an alternate route once you are close that will allow you to avoid the gravel road and stay on blacktop for the entire trip to the speedway, right up until you are ready to turn into either entrance. You'll find that along with all the other descriptions on the same page as listed above.

I like the 94 route myself, but I am just south of Flint. It cuts some of the BS going down 99. I never tried the route down Hartel road... that sounds decent. Right by MaddMike's place.

Yes, I find it to be much faster. That stretch of 99 between 96 and ER is a killer, to me, so slow, and many..........hazards (police)!! And then you must creep through ER. When I first started working there, that was how I went. Even going through Onandega is faster. I have tried many other ways too, including staying on 69 farther, and getting off in Charlotte, for me, this is most direct way, and I make the best time using this route. Getting off at Exit #66, you've only went 1 mile out of the way, so to speak, and you make that up easily with that time at 70 mph on 69.

Give a try next time Craig.

Hartel/Island/Royston is easily 10 minutes.. and if your a lead foot... 15 minutes faster coming from/thru Lansing then coming down M-99.

If your coming into Jackson from the West.. 127-M50-Bellevue is 8 miles shorter then I9-4 to M-99/Peters/Royston, but the same time wise.
