Solid..

a) Wheel base minimum: 104.5"
(NOTE: Small-bodied cars not allowed. If you're unsure, call first)

Achieva is a Pony Stock car.. with a wheel base of 103.4 in (2626 mm)

Spartan published a list of cars the consider "Pony Stocks"

http://spartanspeedway.com/OldBoardStuff/A...ablePonies.html

You'll find the Achieva listed Oldsmobile Achieva 1992-1994 with a 2.3L motor.

This came up once before, last year, when someone wanted to run a Beretta and was told no.. Beretta and Acheiva are the same car.

Now.. I personally would welcome the car to the track to run with the FWD Pure Stocks. Same goes with any/all the cars that run at K-Zoo as Cyber Stocks.

I think a car built to K-Zoo's Cyber Stock rules should be allowed to run with FWD Pures at Springport to Springport's rules. The variances in the rules (in the area of tires and camber primarily) make for a level playing field. We discovered that this spring when Gary Howe at K-Zoo was generous enough to let Brian Jenks and I come run our Springport Spec ruled cars with the K-Zoo spec'ed Cyber Stocks and the cars were very even.

If the track finds the car is just too fast, there are other ways to balance the competition then outlawing the car.

That being said.. If the car isn't built yet, and your building it for SMS, then I'd really make sure you call the officials at the track and get their blessing. If your building it for K-Zoo, then make sure you build it to their rules.

The small-bodied FWD cars were not allowed because of the FWD cars being raced together with the big RWD cars.. The big RWD cars would destroy a small FWD car.

If the FWD and RWD cars are split up, I would bet that the smaller cars could be allowed.

I agree Patrick, I wish there were enough Fwd's to make an entire class. That, in my opinion probably keeps a lot of people from building them.
I don't think a unibody car is any match for a full framed car as far as impact resistance goes. Kind of dangerous. It would be along the lines of running a pony-mini stock car against a Rwd pure. It seems like the RWD would blow a unibody car to pieces.

Dan, we are going to be testing up at Owosso tomorrow night.

Be nice if you could stop by.. maybe even bring the car.
