I believe the barn doors should be open but a rope put across the entrance. No one who shouldn't be in there except the officials and the effected team members. So why not leave the door open for people to see whats going on ? Is this a top secret operation ? Are they holding a United Nations meeting in there ? Are there topless dancers in there ( if so I am heading to Owosso this weekend ). We are forgetting that other tracks do not even have the luxury of a tech barn and its all done in the open.
Leaving the door open ( but roped off )
1.) Creates fan interest. It gives them a chance to see what goes on after the races ( besides lot of beer drinking elsewhere in the pits

2.) It creates an open/transparent atmosphere for the racers and promoter
3.) It helps to eliminate the spread of rumors from " closed doors ".
I have seen this issue handled both ways. Myself, as an official, I would prefer that others can see in while tech is being performed. Otherwise you get people who start rumors about crap that doesn't happen. eq - " They closed the doors and tore the car apart and found something illegal but let him go. "
Unless you got something to hide from others and will be embarrassed in front of an audience if the tech finds it, leave the door open, rope off the entrance and allow no one else inside except 2 team members and the car owner.
I am not a big fan of anything being done in racing that happens behind closed doors. I despise secrecy in racing and in the end it creates a lot of hard feelings. I support Jeff & Rick on this 100 %.

JMHO and since I do not own Owosso, it means little.
