SEPT 19TH AND 20TH IS OUR INVITE THIS YEAR...

WE WILL BE GIVING THE FEATURE WINNER IN THE LEAD SLEDS A "LEGAL" MOTOR. This season our rules are very close to dixie and a/c if not the same, if your legal there you will be legal here, our cars will be running our rules and the rules will be enforced. I know a few guys made the trip up last year and the rules were not competetive. We hope that you'll come back and compete on a even playing field.

This motor is being built by Zilwalkee racing engines. A big thank you to John and Jerry.

Are the Factory Stocks using "invite" rules, or your rules?
I guess I'm asking if a Dixie legal FS will be legal for the invite.

Just like they always have been, with some clarifications. We don't want racers to have to change their cars to come, last year the l/s weight and rim width was missed and Mr. Stone took full advantage of that. We were also greatful that Tom was nice enough to change the rims to 8 inch. Hope to see ya up here again this year.

We have been planning for it all year. Can't wait! I wish we could get up there more often.

Gotta check the world 100 schedule but I plan on being there too. Had a blast last year. Stayed in bed for two days hung over, but had a blast!

Aren't "the invite goodies" you guys generally put on not going to be legal this year? I though they were going to be putting the hammer down to keep competition reasonably even. If not I gotta go get a few things.

The motor rules are a lil more liberal, I think different weight %'s and other stuff. Im sure Andy or Ron will post the rules shortly.

Also Andy will we be running 970's in fs?

According to Jeff (last year.) what went on last year would not this year due to the fact that so many cars (all of them) were not competetive in the LS division. If there is no significant tightening of the rules there is no point in me dragging my car up. Ill just stay home and get some pickins.

Is thier anyone who is interested in lending me a 9" 6.50 gear to come run at Whittemore ? Tight budget and don't have the cash to buy a gear for Whittemore . Thanks for any help. Joe Cantu LLM Driver #21c

Easy Chad!! Factorystock70 is talking about factory stocks, but to his dis-may the factory stocks will be getting tightened back in the rule department and the Lead Sleds way back, that is why 8 out of the top 10 were DQ'ed saturday night (8/2). We don't want you racers to have to change your cars. All classes have similar rules between the 4 east side tracks, so we don't plan on straying far from the basic rules.

Are the U.P Pure stocks legal for the invite this year.We did make a trip to Owosso earlier this year and run very competitive,but were to ld not to come back as the rules were going to tighten up.I will be honest our cam lift was in question we have a .447 lift cam in our cars.Everything else is the same as your rules.

Andy, I remember American racers or Hoosiers were allowed a year or 2 ago. Just comfirming. Did a new shipment come in for saturday?

Nate for the invite thier rules are nothing like ours AC top cars went down there and got spanked. The guy that won started dead last, and he didnt have no stock small block I can say that for sure. We looked his car over and it was pretty outragous.

Maybe they could come up with a weight penalty because cam lift is a clear advantage.

Joe, I have one you can borrow. It is brand new and just set up so I would want you to come to test and tune at Owosso and break it in with just slow laps before it went up north. If you want to borrow it let me know and I will get it to Owosso. Jeff

chad we ran there saturday,,,we ran really good...the rules were changed as of last year just cuz of that fact...check the rules over...chad im telling you i had a blast up there..and they were not that much faster then me...i would say it was pretty even..once i figured out how to drive the track...it was on like donky kong....trust me you would like it...we are heading back up this saturday...bring your car...use as a test in tune 9-20 you will be surprised

i loved it....if it was closer i would run every week there....but ac isnt running this week so ill make the run back up there...i just have to mremember to bring gas for the car...ac has a pump...i didnt see one there....id love to run a late model or a mod there...i bet its like flying a f16 in a fish bowl

The rules will be cut way back and kept close to everyones rule book. Last year we were trying to build the lead sled class up and alot of cars took advantage of that. That is why we dq'ed 8 out of the top ten 2 weeks ago. Bring it up, a brand new engine plus 1st place winnings.

The gas station you passed 2 miles before Whittemore has racing fuel, you can pull your trailer right up to the pump. Remember that hot laps start at 3 p.m.

Thanks Jeff yes i will break it in . I won't be able to til next week. I have a few problems with my motor after saturday nite and need to figure out if it's something simple which i hope.

Ha Jeff, You got a motor I could brake in for a year or so?? Brad and I want to get over to the track yet this year. So look for us to try and get over to that great facility of yours. Are you keeping Rick under control? HAHA. Tell him I said hi.

Yeah Andy as long as mines together I plan on attending. I hope its a pay week between Whittemore and Owosso. lol Thats a bank breaker.

I can guarantee that there is not to many cams at Owosso or Whittemore that are.410 or under I guess we just should have kept our mouths shut but we want to be on the up and up before trailering 4-5 hours.not to sure what kind of weight penalty as my car already weighs 3520#.So we can make the extra weight.Let me know the day that cam lift is going to be checked I will make sure I'm there.

Ill bet most of us are 410 or under it will be checked I can guarantee you that, so if anyone from Owosso is over 410 Id be worried. Right now they are checking vacume, but lift is on the menue.
